Has the club released any updates on his injury? It has been weirdly quiet the whole time..

its all very strange, there was the statement after the CL squad was announced, Fridays presser the journos ran thru the injury list asking for updates and left him out

I think it a niggly persistent injury they want to get right, rather than a bad one.

Conspiracy theorist in me thinks something else is at play

He's seen how our defence has been performing recently and has decided he doesn't want to be associated with that shambles. He'll be out injured until we sign a decent CB. So should be back for the start of next season

The defender hasn’t featured for the Reds since coming on as a substitute in the first pre-season friendly of the summer against Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park on July 12.

Clyne is continuing to work with the club’s medical team at Melwood in order to return to full fitness as soon as possible, though he was not named in Liverpool’s Champions League squad for the group stages of the tournament due to the issue.

Should the Reds progress in the competition, the 26-year-old will be eligible to be registered for action in Europe in the New Year.

Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: "Nathaniel is working hard on his rehab and we have kept a close eye on his progress, but the reality is we are looking at some time still before he is back and available for selection. I am told it will be longer than just a couple of weeks, so we will continue to monitor and assess.

"It is pretty certain he'll not be available for the majority of the Champions League group matches. If we are fortunate enough to still be in UEFA competition in the New Year he could be added to the squad then.

"The medical guys are pleased with how he is responding and Nathaniel has shown a really strong attitude, given he is not someone who is used to being out injured.

"What is positive for us is how Joe [Gomez] and Trent [Alexander-Arnold] have stepped up and grasped their opportunities."

This is exactly my thoughts on it mate. Hopefully it is just injury and nothing else at play for him.

if it was something non-injury related, there are probably far more players in a similar situation than we’d ever know. Hope he can get back to the team in good physical and mental shape. We’ve missed his solid reliable consistency.

He's going through a gender transformation and will be ready to play for the women's team next month.

This is still weird imo. Didn't name him in the squad for the CL even though there was nothing to lose by including him, said he'd be back by about December, now he's "had a setback" and is out for longer. Almost as if they knew he wouldn't be playing again til next year.

Didn't Clyne put up pics on social media in September or October of himself back in the gym? Would be an odd thing for him to have done if he was out for a year for whatever reason.

I know there have been various rumours about why he is out, but it could just as easily (and more likely) be that the reported back problem did suffer a set back during rehab and his return date is unknown as a result.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

He looks fit and dandy in the Nivea ads. You'd have thought with a serious injury he'd be limping or in sort sort of cast or brace

he was in back in training at the end of September so not that serious, I think I'd rather he had too much of a good time in Ibiza in the summer and is serving a secret ban than him having long standing back issues tbh

So we can rule out leprosy then.
