With the squad we have we really should be able to keep the team fresh all season. I think towards the end of last season certain players became undroppable and they went a bit flat as the season drew to a close.
yeah the fitness is crucial. Looking forward to seeing how we line up and get on in a competitive game.

Yet we set a club record for away clean sheets. A club record.Originally posted by Bender View PostThis is where BR has failed, never has our defense ever really looked solid and calm, emphasis seems to be an attacking philosophy, mistakes are still being made in defense and doesn't look like there's any coaching done to correct this.Always borrow money from a pessimist. 7 sides with a better GA record and that includes the debacle of the Stoke game on the last day.
One issue we've had for some time is the number of individual errors we make complaints can be made of the coaching, system etc... But you can't legislate for individual brain farts of which we seem to have quite a few.

Firmino looks tenacious and quick! I think he'll score some good goals and assist others. Can't wait to see the season progress!
Benteke took his time but once he was in the groove, he got more involved. His goal was sublime, very Fowleresque!
I love Tex, I really hope he gets a chance. He puts in a shift too so I reckon he could play well alongside any of our existing midfield.
Defence is **** but the right back we fielded first looked like a good prospect.
Can looked really good. Strong, inventive, skilful, indefatigable. He really wants that starting midfield place. If he can play like that in the league then we have a full German international on our hands!
Lastly, Swindon did not embarrass themselves, they played well, very quick and well organised. Was muß, das muß.

You wanted stability and us to play our fringe players?Originally posted by Bender View Postwe had pre-season to play our starting back four and try and build an understanding But confusion, mistakes and panic will still continue....would have liked Tiago Llori given a chance in pre-season.

Say what you like about the senior side, the club has more genuinely exciting yoof prospects now than at any other time for my money.Originally posted by BigChief View PostThat right back we fielded in the first half is not a right back. He's also only 16 years old.
On that subject Ojo off to Wolves apparently.
As for the vexed issue of Markovic, I really feel he keeps getting the ****ty end of the stick. The guy needs an arm round the shoulder and a decent run of games. I really hope he is a default starter for the Cups and EL.

Very good Pre season Joe Allen aside, we look quite sharp and fit compared to a number of other Premiership sides I seen in Pre Season. Jordan Ibe, Clyne, Ryan Kent, Joe Gomez, Origi and Milner really impressed me.
I thought Moreno had more about him last night, first time he has had real competition breathing down his neck in Gomez. Watching Stoke and Glen Johnson I am soo happy he is someone else's problem ... I hope he plays opening day, Coutinho will have a field day. In fact I would say if we can press them high up the pitch we can repay them handsomely for that 6-1Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015
