What did you make of Hendo and Milner?

I'll say it one last time, thank God we don't have Gerrard anymore. Hendo played like he could go forwards without worrying about who he needs to cover. Milner on the other hand also getting forward but as expected bossing the midfield albeit against ****e opposition.

Apart from Maguire that second half team very much had the look of the first choice 11 at the moment. Hope that's not the case since Sakho wasn't in it.

Rodgers talked about working on the tactical elements in this game. The first half, we played a 4-4-2 diamond, and the second half, a 4-3-3. It's about reinforcing the ideas on playing those systems and implementing an attacking philosophy into them.

Let's be honest, our pre-season schedule is not testing in terms of opposition. It is when you consider fitness and travel, which will be vital when the Europa League starts. The calibre of the opposition won't give us a clear idea on how players will cope against tougher tests. In one way, it's good, as we've signed the majority of our targets early, and all games will be geared toward solidifying our tactical principles so that during the season, it will be about maintenance.

Yeah, but it's nice not reading too much into a training game we looked good in, rather than not reading too much into a training game where we played crap and and our new signings looked out of place.
