    Our natural game

My head has been done in trying to think tactically what has been costing us.
Im starting to come to the conclusion that we have no natural game, and that is what is costing us, we all know Rafa likes possibilities, which is fair enough, likes to play it sometimes long ballc, sometimes short passing, sometimes wing play and sometimes long range shooting etc.
Also, we play a heavy pressure game, and spend alot of time pressing team and expending energy all over the park at all times.
But does all of this take away from our natural footballing ability. I mean, if you take Arsenal, their natural game is quick passing with great movement originating from midfield and players always willing to make runs and their players know what to expect, but when we try a great run or clever flick, it seems the person its intended for isnt expecting the flick or through ball to be made.
Are we spending too much time trying to cover every single style of play trying to be the ultimate flexible tactical footballing team which robs us of true understading of what to expect on the football pitch?.
It seems we tend to play alot more on the ground infront of our home fans, high tempo and with more confidence. Im just thinking all this could be a reason for our poor displays this season, especially in the final third where we cant seem to get the final ball right.
Oh, and just one more thing, never though id hear myself say this, but we need to play Luis Garcia far more than we currently are, he is the only one who can try things regularly upfield and really catch defenders out.(once he doesnt try them in his own half).

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Our style has always been pass and move Bazza.

It would appear that Rafa has changed that slightly - to pass sideways and move backwards.

Watching this current team is exactly the same as watching Liverpool under Roy Evans when Barnes was centre-mid: loads of possession sideways and backwards but no penetration at all.

I'm really not sure what our natural game is under Rafa at present.

That is Rafa's whole idea though, to keep the opposition guessing and not knowing what to expect, it may well be the undoing of us though. I know his system is very advanced and i admire him for being so dedicated and passionate about his system, just have doubts about it sometimes, as you would do in these situations when we are loosing.
But it did win him titles at Valencia, when his teams seemed to steadily go up in gear all season unlike the rest of the teams who got tired and nervous. So we may still have some joy yet, but not this season, also, take note his title wins came when there was no involvement in the champions league to distract them (the dreaded post CL league match syndrome).
Id also like to see him only adding two or three new faces next summer and giving youth a chance.
