Lallana and Ibe were poor. Gomez was good for an 18 year old but has a long way to go.

Start with the team we finished the game with and that's our strongest line up

Obviously Can and Firminho will find themselves in our regular 11, but they're not ready yet, which explains Rodgers' decision not to include them from the start.
      Are we winning?

        Gomez--Lovren--Skrtel--Clyne
        ------------Mig

this gives us two players to come close to benteke from either side, two skilfull lads who can run with the ball and shoot if not closed down, or thread a killer pass to chris if they are being closed down. they will draw defenders out and create space in behind.

the three in the middle will stop our midfield being so hollow.
Like it. It could easily segue into a back three of Gomez, Lovren and Skrtel on certain transitions. Giving Can and Clyne more remit to push forward.
I wear my heart on my profile name.

Who said I wasnt happy? I stayed up till 3am on a night when I need to be up early. Thats the sort of thing I go through to follow this team. I'm more than happy, especially when its Coutinho who scores. But I was commenting on 1 thing to someone else that had nothing to do with you, and that was Brendan hadnt convinced all the fans after 1 game. And thats it.

All you are doing is moaning about stuff, doesn't come across as happy, thats all. You hardly ever praise anyone or anything about the club. Well done on staying up past your bedtime.

Also credit to Rodgers. The introduction of Can allowed Henderson, Milner to play as box to box midfielders, pushed Coutinho a little bit to the left and we looked a lot better.

Today's win is not about the performance. It is about building confidence.
We need to string a run together. The confidence it breeds will lead to more fluid play.

I think I've praised Coutinho about 4 times so far? I even praised Lambert some and you got on my back for it

                        Never understood this..

But totally agree this win is massive, lifts a weight off our shoulders and with only United winning its been a good weekend. Keep the ball rolling against Bournemouth and we can have a lot of momentum going into these tough fixtures.

I'd be happy to see that given a go.

Not convinced Gomez is ready to be first choice left back though if I'm honest. That's not even his normal position is it?

He has enough potential to learn fast though so if the team can carry him for a few games and protect him from the mistakes he's bound to make then he should come good so I don't mind him being given a chance.

That's one way to get the defence moving forward as a unit.
