Can see why he was brought on, and he's obviously only a nipper, looks like he needs to grow into his Shirt

Yep, the very brief future of Liverpool's centre! Now plays for Châteauroux in Ligue 2

Amazing how Plessis disappeared as quickly as he appeared:

                Did he have injury problems?

I haven't not given him a chance. I mentioned the fact that he's a young lad at the end, he obviously has some potential or he wouldn't be given a chance.

Don't think its unfair to say he struggled though because he did, it's not a bad mark on him for doing so because he was well and truly thrown in the deep end against a team that if you aren't sharp will leave you behind.

I don't agree with the assertion that Rossiter struggled, as a whole 2nd half we sat deeper and had a lot less of the ball.
Rossiter did what he does every week, if you haven't seen him before then he doesn't catch the eye but 99 times out of 100 he's in the right position and he uses the ball simply and quickly.

I said this last year, maybe even the season before he's a continuity player or a deep lying play maker.
I watched him live at Reading in the FA Youth Cup season before last and he didn't give the ball away once and moved everything within 3 touches.

There's a reason a small, scrawny kid plays centre midfield, that's because he's miles ahead of the ball in his head, his interception/positioning then simple distribution is very, very good.

The Arsenal game changes nothing for me, Lucas is needed to start maybe 2 or 3 more games this season, no home games and maybe Chelsea and City away.
In every other game any 1 of Can, Hendo or Milner offers so much more in the deepest CM position.
Rossiter perfect for every other game so the Capital Cup and early Europa games, he'd have played a lot more last season if he hadn't done his ankle badly around February time.

                        Well said Birdman on Rossiter.

As many said he wasn't really impressive as such, but I don't remember him doing anything that Lucas and Can hadn't been doing in the 2nd half. I think he could've used his energy to get out more, but I think he felt constricted and had likely been told to keep it simple & stay in position to keep the shape.

I think people have to remember we had three players out who'd have come on ahead of him too in Hendo, Allen & Lallana. He wasn't amazing but Lucas was knackered and he was the logical swap.
                        Forwards.......

That's the thing, he does his job for the team, in that FA Youth Cup tie v Reading I referenced he hardly passed the half way line for 85 mins, Liverpool were 3-1 down and in the last 5 mins plus added time he scored one and made the equalizer because he was freed up to move forward.

He single handily drove the team on a la Gerrard but before then he sat deeper as was his role while Brannigan (mainly) was awful ahead of him.
He was 16 or so at the time, bossed everyone around, if you watch after he came on vs Arsenal he's pointing to Milner and Can telling them where to pass it.
That's an 18 year old kid on his PL debut away to Arsenal telling internationals what to do, that is why Rossiter will make it.
It might take 3 to 4 years before he's strong enough to be a regular but he'll make it.
