Ibe and Gomez both start against the USA U23 side. This game is on one of the betting sites so you might find a stream

Eng U21 was on BT Sport earlier. Gomez and Ibe played for 60 minutes each. USA hardly had a sniff of the ball but a slightly more dangerous opposition would definitely have punished this laxidaisical defence.

Gomez gave the ball away, directly to one of their players' feet, no less than 8 times. Two of those times should have been definite goals. He's fallen, fallen fast. Hope its just a phase as this can't be his actual level.

Ibe looked as clueless for large parts of the game as he has for us this season. Put two men on him and there's nothing he can do. Saying that when he did twice find himself one on one with the fullback he absolutely roasted them and put chances on a plate in the middle. Should have had two assists if not for the **** Woodcruff or whatever his name is. Shows that Ibe might do nothing for most of the game but you can't take your eyes off him for a moment.

Edit: Gomez played right back the whole game and Ibe played 80% of the time hugging the right touchline and 20% the left touchline. Created one gilt edge chance each from both wings.

If you follow Ibe on instagram, you'd be worried about his dedication to football. It comes across as being very much second in his priorities and concerns me to be honest.

Is his instagram like Sturridge's? Daniel's a hipster outside of football but you know where his love and dedication lies.

Lots of gangsta hand gesture's and street stuff with a bit of footy thrown in. Its a different generation, so could be nothing, but for me, if I was that age and playing for LFC, football would be the be all end all. If you look earlier on, its very much football, as it progresses, it becomes more urban/music. Seems to coincide with his performances.

He cut his holiday short in the summer to train by himself at Melwood, perhaps it's better to judge by that rather than meaningless pictures on Instagram.

That may well be the case, but as I've said, his page has progressed from football to music and fashion, which has coincided with poor performances. I also said its a different generation and could be nothing.

Its a difficult game to play, look at Enrique. He's closed his accounts down now, but all that was required was to be a little more balanced. Lucas went home for the summer and posted updates of meals with friends alongside training sessions on his own, Jose however, after spending most of the time on the bench, sick table, spent his summer uploading photo's of himself with his misses enjoying holidays on the beach and at sea. Its all about how you present yourself and whether you're doing the business on the pitch.

Couldn't give a **** what they post to Instagram, I don't follow them there.

Unless they have a few lines of coke lined up and they're hanging out with criminals then they're free to pursue whatever non-criminal or non-impact (on their football) activities he chooses.

Thanks to the internet, you have a greater window on their lives.

Having a player that ties up two players can be quite useful, if used correctly. Opens up space for others to exploit, sounds like Coutinho territory.

Imagine if this all existed 30 years ago. I couldnt care less what he does with his life as long as he is doing well on the pitch. Even then we have to caveat that with his age and career progression to date.

If people dont like what they see (I dont personally follow him as I find the idea of footballers lives very ****ing boring) Then unfollow him. If enough people do it he might realise its pointless posting **** on the internet and do something else with his time.

I mainly post photos of beer I am drinking, but that doesnt mean im not dedicated to whatever it is Im doing at the time.
                              *Except Michael, who died.
