I think they muddled up the numbers and Ings wasn't the player coming off. Mason has form for cocking up substitutions and I think Rodgers just let the topic go during the post match interview.

On a positive note, despite being played ludicrously out of position, I was really impressed with Ings. He really put in a shift. He could be a Kuyt type player for us.

I would imagine that we must have got the numbering wrong otherwise we could have got it changed before the sub was made

Lot of my mates that are united fans really don't want him to be sacked. That in itself says something. I remember feeling that way about Moyes at United.

Ok, so silver linings from this game:

1. All LFC fans can finally unite to agree Rodgers is not the man for us. The sooner gone, the better. No more fighting on the subject.

2. Formation may, just may, change to diamond and no more sht 433 without the right players.

3. We created enough chances to win the game in the second half despite playing like the worst team in the PL this season.

4. Liverpool losing means no more masking and papering over cracks for Rodgers. The reverse is true for Utd, that win masks over how bad their team still is but LvG will be given more time as a result of this game. LvG staying could work out in the long term for us under Klopp.
