I don't think it's understandable at all, that's a complete **** up by the Manager.

He's the one changing all the players and changing the formations all the time. He's the one buying 20 players every summer to replace one good one that we sell.

He's also done exactly what I've said several times we mustn't do. He's played all the kids instead of just playing a couple of them with senior players to guide them.

It makes it a lottery whether we will walk away with any points and does nothing to help the development of the kids. 4th season, no trophies and shown no wit in Europe.

We are Liverpool, we live for European nights.

It's like he doesn't give a ****.

If we can survive in Europe until FSG finally have the balls to do what they should have done in May then hopefully the new Manager can inspire the players to a Europa Cup victory.

A European trophy and entry to the Champions League.

I just cannot comprehend why he doesn't take this tournament seriously.

well i really thought tonight was great.

turned the tv and computer off and sat and did jigsaws and spelling games with the daughter. she is learning faster than rodgers it seems.

I didn't mean academy players, I meant kids. If you think Gomez, Can, Origi, Moreno, and Ibe are senior and experienced players then you really have low expectations of what a well balanced and experienced Liverpool team should look like.

Although to be fair we aren't exactly rich with 24+ experienced players!

I can't think of a top in Europe who play two up top. I'm sure there's one. Juventus play three at the back and have two strikers on, other than them? I think finding a way to play with 4 defenders & one central striker is the way forwards.

People are only obsessed over two strikers because of 13/14. All that being said, due to Rodgers poor transfer markets, 2 up top is one of few formations we can play.

Btw, that's a really good result. Performance was ****e mind. But a point away from home whilst playing kids - hard to complain tbh.

There is no one perfect formation, of course you can find teams that play well with three at the back just as you can with the very popular 4-3-3/4-3-2-1 systems nowadays.

I would like to see two up top purely because the lone LFC striker is always left too isolated and with poor service. This has been the case for quite a while now. Was a hindrance to the attacking threat of the team last season too.

The gap between midfield and striker is just too big. I think if you ask players to play 4-3-3 then ask the wingers to drop back too far you give them too much work and they can't be around the centre forward when they need to be. I feel if benteke had someone closer to him to play balls to, they might be able to keep possession a bit longer by which time the midfielders will be up around them.

I think you can play any system you want if you have the players to do it. All systems have their strengths and weaknesses.

That's why it's so unforgivable that with all the players Rodgers has bought the past two summers he cannot play his preferred system, or second favorite or third favorite or any system he seems to like without putting square pegs in round holes.

Also Rodgers post match was praising the fact that the average age of the team he played was 21.7:-

"We had so many young players in the team – and some of these players were playing their first games – so I thought it was very encouraging.

"Coming away in European games is always tough to do, but with the lack of experience we had and a lot of the young players, I was delighted with that.

He seems to think he's at the beginning of a 10 year project, not the end of a 3 year one with a one year grace period. The scary thing is that if he fielded our 11 most senior players the average age, hence experience, wouldn't be much higher.

You just cannot get away with that in your 4th year without a trophy.

He's had enough time, money and transfer windows to be fielding his complete team in his 4th year. A team that has a serious chance of winning a trophy and getting us into Champions League.

Not a bunch of inexperienced kids for a major cup competition that can get you into the Champions League and a first team with the wrong players for his preferred formation, no experience and no hope of a top 4 finish.

The more I think about it the more I cannot comprehend FSG giving him one more year after the abysmal season last season and yet they fired a legend like Dalglish after he won a cup and got us to the final of another when only giving him 1.5 seasons and one summer transfer window.
