Great to see Sakho and Sturridge in the team

Well that's pretty much the best 11 right now bar Hendo, just a question of the formation and other trivial stuff like ability, desire, effort....!

That is line up looks more like it. Hopefully it's 4 4 2 and Sturridge can just stay up top near the goal. Risk playing him from the start but it is great to see him back. Sakho comes back in finally! We all need a big performance

That's a strong line-up. No excuses today. We can even bring the likes of Lallana, Ings, Ibe and Firmino from the bench too.

I agree, mate. I'm on my iPad and copying and pasting from the BBC Sport app but that's really just an excuse.

The reality is that Bender sets the bar so high with his use of graphics and emblems, that I've just crumbled under the pressure

Watch Sturridge limp off after 20 minutes.

Few different options for the formation.

The 3421 with Studge & Couts behind Benteke. Doesn't really allow Studge to stretch the defence too much. I think key last season with this was the amount of work Phil & Lallana did in defence, with the pace of Raheem to stretch the back line.

The 3412 with Studge supporting Benteke with Couts in behind. In theory it sounds good. Proper width from the full backs and unlike the diamond you have a sold backline in there and can continually ask your full backs to push up. It gives you Studge next to Chris and the a target for Phil to hit with the through balls.

That was tried V Besiktas last season in Turkey and it didn't work, albeit with different players.

4231 - Studge wide right. Milner covering spaces he leaves. It was a role Couts played in v Bournemouth and he linked very well with Chris. Phil rarely tracked back and the two looked good together. Phil could play in the role Adam did in that game, slightly deeper.

433 - Studge wide right again. This formation was played v Arsenal, can be devastating when played to full effect. It didn't get going v West Ham, but Moreno at LB offers a better outlet than Gomez so that may help. One downside is Studge would be asked to put in the work out wide and not really putting him to best use. He also didn't like that position when playing there for Chelsea.

41212 - What most want to see. Worked great with the SAS as Studge & Suarez when both fit were able to drift wide and stretch the play. Benteke of course can't do this, it's not his game. Also, Phil in behind isn't the pacy threat Raheem was on the break.

Staying with the diamond, we also don't have that distribution in fron with Lucas. Milner can match the energy of Hendo, but Can doesn't have the movement to get up and down like Allen did. Can in front of the back 4 would be interesting, but then you have Lucas further forward and he has less movement than even Can.

                  ----

It will be very interesting to see what option Rodgers picks, and whether he stays with it for the full ninety.
                  Forwards.......

Bad move starting Sturridge so soon imo. He shouldn't be starting for at least the next 2-3 games. If he gets ****ing injured again I'm going to be livid.

Should have gone with Ings and Benteke from the start.

I'm hoping it's a back 4 and 2 up front, I'm not too fussed how we try and sort the midfield out beyond that. Sturridge is wasted out wide so it would be crazy to play him there IMO, and I just don't like the back 3 system.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If Sturridge makes it to 60 minutes, you can bring on an energetic Ings to press, drop into space and get into excellent positions against a tiring Norwich side, regardless of the result at that point.

That's our strongest team at the moment in my opinion.

                          No Origi then.

Good selection. Just hoping BR doesn't **** it up with the tactics.
