Norwich created a few good ones themselves though and could probably say the same.

In his deluded mind, throwing Pascoe and Marsh under the bus has erased the last 3 years.Originally posted by Tribute View PostFrom Radio City news this morning:

Jesus wept.
It's a fresh new start, and we can all look forward to Brendog getting that 180 page dossier working its magic very soon.

Coutinho - love the lad, but he simply has to score that. That's training ground stuff. Straight at the keeper. Spend the rest of the game trying to score a worldie when the simple pass was the better ball.
He's part of the problem. Good shot stopper and seems a nice guy, but he's a liability. Not helped by the defence tbh, but the whole side needs an overhaul. Coutinho is very wasteful - infuriating at times.

I was surprised he switched the formation so soon
I expected it to come but not so soon, the same for throwing Sakho in who I thought was MOM yesterday
The problem with us at the minute is that I dont think one system suits us, even 3-4-1-2 that he played yesterday exposes problems. Clyne is a good fullback but hes not a wingback by any stretch of the imagination
I thought Ings did well yesterday, he reminds me a bit of Keegan. Hes tenacious wears his heart on his sleeve as he bustles around
I couldnt understand why after looking decent for a period with 2 up top (when Ings came on) switches again to a system employing 2347 attacking midfielders behind a lonestrikerBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. This three at the back nonsense. We can just as well setup in a 4-4-2 or a diamond. We have on paper a decent back four, let's try it, once, just once? Clyne - Skrtel - Sakho - Moreno is decent and should be usable at least.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI was surprised he switched the formation so soon

And surely there is a manager somewhere who can mould a functional midfield from Lucas - Milner - Can - Firmino - Coutinho - Ibe - Lallana - Texeira.
I think we are selling the players way too short, there are capable players in the squad that are just not playing even close to 70% of their capability.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

If Rodgers stays and we stick with 352 he's going to have real issues keeping the squad happy. If you have Courinho as our best player he starts all of our big games so does Sturridge. You'd assume your £32m striker is a first pick. It leaves a lot of players scrapping over 1 or 2 positions.
The backtrack here after a summer where we have spent big on another formation is astonishing. It's a massive admission of weakness.
I agree, I though Brendan would stick with the other formation for longer. I equally am surprised at how quickly the fantasy has turned on him (as surprised as I was for the amount of support there was in the summer to keep him on).
He's ****ed. Not now, but soon. We are guaranteed to get rolled by the likes of Chelsea or City (or Palace) soon. So save us all the anguish and get rid now.Modifying post.

Mignolet might not be the long-term answer but I don't think we'd have faired any differently over the last three seasons with Reina in goal.

I rather get rolled over under a new manager who could legitimately claim to be rebuilding. Rodgers should finishing the roof by now, not relaying the foundation for the third time.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostIf Rodgers stays and we stick with 352 he's going to have real issues keeping the squad happy. The problem was we only had one striker on the bench. Sturridge was presumably only planned to play for an hour. I guess the plan after an hourwas that Ings would have come on. Benteke picking up an injury changed that. I thought before the match that if we were going with 2 up front (one of whom wasn't going to last the full 90 mins) we should have had two strikers on the bench.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI was surprised he switched the formation so soon

And the completely ****ing stupid thing about yesterday is that we basically shoehorned Can into defence when later on in the game he went into midfield. Why not start him as a defensive midfielder that can help the defence out, not the other way round? It's Norwich FFS

To be honest I don't really care if players want to leave because they are unhappy at not being picked. The best players Coutinho, Sturridge, Benteke, Sakho, Clyne and Henderson will get games when fit, there are a couple of youngsters in Gomez and Can who aren't at the required level yet but look like they could get there. Beyond that none of the others have convinced me yet that they have earned their place in the squad / have a future at the club.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostIf Rodgers stays and we stick with 352 he's going to have real issues keeping the squad happy. When you look at the list of players above that is probably the spine of our team, when you consider that a few years ago We had Reina, Carragher Hyypia, Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard and Torres it's quite a depresssing comparison, and explains why we are where we are. I'm not saying the players that we have are bad players I think they are mostly all good/decent PL players and if you put them in a side with a couple of world class players they would form a good side. The problem is none of those players are anything special I don't think you would say anyone in the squad we have now is genuinely world class. The fact that this squad cost a stupid amount of money to put together is sad.
EDIT: and I think that this is the case for whatever formation we play, even if figure out the best system that this side can play we might push for the top 4 (and maybe we would make it) but I think that around 4th/5th is probably about the position this squad belongsLast edited by Exiled_red; 21-09-15, 11:36 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That sums him up under duress. Doesn't go full out attack when playing attacking players and doesn't use the correct defensive players when going all out defence. He's become a bit of a ditherer and that's the worst kind of leadership in any field.Originally posted by Fierce View Post

Trying to avoid falling on either sword but managing to gain a thousand cuts in the process. Just too painful to watch, someone needs to pull the trigger and put the poor animal out of his misery. One tit for another.
