And so Brendan's excruciating long goodbye continues. The sooner FSG eat their summer error and send him packing with his vacuous blather and convictionless Billy-to-Jack tactical see sawing, the better for everyone. There's no longer any reason to believe he can turn it around. If FSG finally get a managerial appointment correct, we can still have a good season with this squad.

The rest were shots we were just blasting them at defenders, with the odd few which were result of desperate blocking, most they just stood there and got the ball blasted at them.
That's the problem and it has been the same all season. We might have a high number of shot but we are barely creating chances of note.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

As I said before the match I find the lineup we chose yesterday somewhat baffling, if we were going to pick such a strong side, we should have put a first 11 out to try and develop an understanding between the players. The idea of mixing half the first team and some fringe players in defence for example must just create confusion, or at least does nothing to benefit the players that will play at the weekend. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

'It will get better'
Liverpool first-team coach Gary McAllister:
"There were big sighs of relief in that dressing room and the players are extremely happy.
"And it will get better. The feeling is that we're working hard in training, we'll persevere, and we'll try to win games and perform well.
"Maybe this is one of those little things that can just pull us together as we look forward to the weekend.
"The positives were we are through to the next round and we've had over 50 shots at goal."

This is bad though. I can't see him coming back so you just want them to move things forward and get this pain over with.
200m spent and not a world class player bought. Considering what players we have lost in that period it is unacceptable.
I have supported him all the way. I don't dislike the guy and certainly won't start a character or personal assasination of him but unfortunately after 8 games of the season we look much worse than we did last season.....and that's saying something.
Even the Kop have now stopped singing his name and that was my defence for him still having support of a fair few supporters.
