We've lost Gomez (established himself as a starter) and Ings (player of the month and playing really well) for the rest of the season. The club captain has been out pretty much the entire season, our best player has been out for almost 12 months and is returning to fitness, picking up another injury, our two massive summer signings have been out for the last few weeks, and are returning to full match fitness. Its pretty much half a starting 11 since he's been here. It completely depends on what your definition of horrendous is.

Its not horrendous in the same sense that a plane crash is no, but in the microcosm of professional football goes, not having half the squad available isn't pretty bad luck

Maybe your point wasn't very well expressed. The point is Sturridge is a miss to any squad, regardless of how long he has been out.

It's not something new though. It's why we've bought Benteke for and he as well has been missing for various fitness reasons.

I think if a player would play in the first 11 when fit is a miss. Sturridge, Henderson and Gomez being out is 30% of the side. So it's fairly annoying that they are missing. Probably not horrendous, but language is a funny thing and hyperbole is a MASSIVE problem in conversations.

However, Fredo playing these missing players off like it ain't even a thing, is just as hyperbolic as saying it's horrendous.

So yeah, stop trolling everyone and find the middle ground

I am not trolling. It's just common sense. Firmino and Benteke being back brings a bit of perspective. If they hadn't, then it would have been a different story.

Sturridge, Henderson and Ings are the main ones missing (Henderson won't be too long before he is back). Gomez and Rossiter were not first team players.

That's the middle ground. On that note, I'm off to bed.

He wouldn't. He was an option for rotation though and when those players are injured you miss them, as others have to over play. I'd put Ings in that same bracket, despite his positive start. Flanno, not sure he starts either tbh if Moreno can show form.

Firmino hasn't really got going at all, but he was a big signing and so you'd have to say he's been a loss. Sturridge, Benteke & Henderson are of course massive losses.

But you take that list of players out the squad and you have big holes.

If Gomes was fit he would start in place of skrtel who has been awful.
