The problem we have is the total lack of any speed or desire when we attack. Coutinho is struggling because whenever he picks the ball up he has 1 striker and maybe 1 or 2 midfielders to pass too.... who all have their back to goal. So this just stops our attacks instantly and we go backwards or sideways. (That or Couthinho has one of his 173743763 off target shots)

Nobody is playing on the shoulders of the defenders and making runs for balls to be played into, be it in the air or on the ground. It's all too static.

Once we sort that **** out and play 2 forwards we will see goals.

I don't think there were people being "ultra positive" about BR but there were posters that took exception the abuse a manager of LFC was getting. He's gone now and probably should have gone in the Summer, he didn't so it was very much get behind him and see what happens - didn't work and we've traded up for a high calibre manager.

The squad is missing a few key components but it's not in terrible shape, the methods Klopp brings in will take time though but so far it's encouraging to see defensively we look a lot better and have a shape to us, the attacking side of things will take time but all in all its been a decent sort of as expected start

        I think it's terribly balanced.

Sending Markovic on loan was really dumb, having four midfielders like Allen, Can, Milner and Henderson is also weird, not one of them has something special to offer.

Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana is another weird collection of Nr. 10's and to top it off you buy Benteke, with one winger in the squad. It's just weird, the players are decent but the way the squad has been put together is just weird.

Klopp will probably focus on getting us to be more solid and compact before moving the focus on attack so it could take a while.
        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

not having 'proper wingers' is an issue but even the regular midfielders can play balls into the box as milner did. you dont really need to get right down the line.
we need to take the ball to the byline for some variation, but then look for cutbacks rather than just the obvious lumping into the box.
for me, the diagonal ball [with pace]into the box, as played by milner, is much more difficult to defend against and allows benteke [or others] to use their strength and give them something to attack.

          what a great header.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

For me we have made the change

Frankly I'm ****ing chuffed we have made the change and I am actually looking forward to watching us now, whereas as under Brendan it was a chore to say the least

I can already see the changes hes made and you can see the guy on the sidelines exudes passion

I dont think any of our players will be given an easy ride under Klopp I am almost certain there will be none of the favouritism Brendan showed towards some of "his" signings. If players dont meet Klopps standards they will be dropped and shipped out

This is a results business so you will always get people moaning but for me if you are improving your performances and moving forward with a plan then results can be forgiven somewhat

The problem for Brendan was the results were utter ****e and the performances in all departments were dreadful, I can already see signs of improvement under Klopp in certain areas

Anyone criticising Klopp at the minute can **** right off

I agree. Although the results haven't followed (yet), at least the team looks prepared when the game kicks off.

                  Liverpool 1-1 Rubin Kazan

                  Bordeaux 1-1 Liverpool
Annoyingly, in all those draws (bar Rubin Kazan) we have taken the lead only to be pegged back. The team badly needs to hold on to a win just for confidence, we are almost expecting to concede once we take the lead!

Klopp has all but come out and said this group of players are soft cunts ... you can see when Moreno skied the ball last night .. my response was to jump to my feet and screem For ****s Sake !! He when from anger to applause because he knows the problem at the moment is all mental

I can see the big difference with the same bunch of players .. we look 100% more solid, we don't look like conceding every break, i would be very happy with a cup run and be in the race for 4th till the end of the season, obviously I want more, but each step at a time. He already has Can playing in the position we all wanted him to play in and looking less like 13 stone bambi on ice a more like a young Yaya Toure

this talk of he does not win fans will be on his back .. well those ****s need to **** off a support Barcalona or something .. Most ridiculous thing I have read in ages

Since Klopp has come in we look a much better side, we look like a team, under Rodgers we were looking like strangers at times.

The problem for me remains what we do in the final third, we don't have enough creativity or enough players who can finish and that is really hurting us. Looking at the stats yesterday (from BBC website) we had 15 shots only 2 of which were on target. And I can't really remember us creating many clear cut chances, I remember a few shots from distance - it was the same in Europe midweek. Obviously we have been affected by injuries to Sturridge, Ings, Benteke and Firmino, so hopefully things will improve now that Benteke and Firmino at least are back. We need to be developing attacking patterns of play but we desperately need players from midfield to start chipping in with goals as well. I believe it will come in time people just need to be patient.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I don't think lack of creativity is a problem when you have Coutinho, lallana and firmino in the squad. Its about balance, all of those lads want the ball to feet whereas none of them want to run in behind. They can all create but whenever any of them have the ball and are looking for forward runners or forward options, the others are stood within 10 yards wanting the ball into feet.

Nobody at the moment is looking to run in behind defences or stretch the play. You need a mix between creators and runner options for that creativity. We have plenty of the former and none of the latter.

been saying it for awhile, everything is too samey. Can, Milner, Lallana & Henderson are all too similar.

There was about 5 minutes yesterday when Beneteke came on that both Coutinho & Lallana looked to run beyond Benteke

The problem is they arent quick enough and they were soon outpaced by the recovering defenders

As per my little diagram on the Coutinho thread - play Milner or Hendo as the runner from the midfield. Its a job Hendo does pretty well and one that Milner did to effect at City. Just a pity he is another one of those players who can't see his own best role!

Firmino came on yesterday and for the first time since he joined, he looked like a proper player - quick feet, intelligent movement and supporting the attacking play well. Considering he's coming back from injury, he looked decent, as did Benteke.

Just makes me wonder whether he was a Rodgers or a Transfer Committee signing? If the former, I don't think Rodgers knew where (or how) to play him to get the most from him
