Just heard about Benteke. Only LFC could buy a crock to replace a crock.

Ignoring Benteke's achilles injury for a moment, he's missed the same number of games for us as he has his entire career previously. To label him as some sort of crock is wide of the mark. Sure, he had a long spell out with his achilles, but it's a freak injury not some regular, ongoing niggle. From memory, wasn't Benteke's medical nearly 72 hours long? We did our bit, it's just incredibly frustrating and maybe a tad unlucky.

Seen as we have a striker crisis, anyone fancy giving Ibe a go up top on his own?
I think he'd do more damage there and he's quick enough to run the front line. Or what about giving young Wilson a promotion from the reserves?Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

Wilson was on loan last I heard, struggling to get games. Ibe isn't a striker. Id play Origi as a striker in the cup, he can start to build confidence in the lesser games. If it was Chelsea, maybe I'd go with Firmino up top instead, played there for Brazil in the Copa America.Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostSeen as we have a striker crisis, anyone fancy giving Ibe a go up top on his own?

You'd really have to wonder how much attention is paid to players history wouldn't you? Regardless of why a knock is picked up its surely only competence to check a players ability to get injured and how often it happens. It certainly appears to be a case of crossing fingers for Liverpool.Originally posted by BigChief View PostBenteke? Dear God. What a crock we got in. That injury with Villa may have seemed 'unlucky' but players like him just attract those sorts of things. That's the difference between a Suarez and a Sturridge (or in this case a Benteke).

And why do you know that - Bentekes have had 1 more serious injury in his carreer and that was last season. Other than that he's been fine, missing 2-5 games a season - somthing most players do.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostYou just knew Benteke would spend more time on the injury table than the pitch when we signed him. Another Rodgers masterstroke.

Also thinking, are we really that much worse than any other club injury wise, or do we just tend to notice it more because we follow this club more closely?
I mean currently Arsenal and Newcastle have more injuries than us and 9 clubs have 5 or more injuries currently. Not really signficantly worse it is?

And it's not like any top notch strikers or their agents were bigging themselves up for a move to us that I can remember. We're all experts after the event heyOriginally posted by Darkon View PostAnd why do you know that - Bentekes have had 1 more serious injury in his carreer and that was last season. Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Medial ligaments are just bad luck right? We're just going through a rough patch now, Henderson isn't injury prone either, nor is Danny Ings. I'd rather say that the Benteke signing was risky due to how he fit the squad rather than him being injury prone. And even then, in the summer I was going through alternatives to Benteke and there was a real shortage of strikers in the summer, Benteke, Rondon, Lacazette, Bacca and Dybala came to mind who were of decent age and quality.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
