This fits both the youth and loan stickies, so a fresh thread makes more sense.
Since Klopp came in he has given time to Conor Randall, Brad Smith, Jordan Rossiter, Pedro Chirivella, Cameron Brannagan from the youth ranks plus bench time for Sinclair and Teixeira, on loan we have Danny Ward, Ryan Kent, Sheyi Ojo, Sergi Canos, Andre Widsom, all of whom have a reasonable chance of being considered for the senior squad next season (maybe January for Kent and Canos) plus Lazar Markovic who surely will be part of it for certain.
Ryan McLaughlin and Harry Wilson having been recalled, Allan has not yet got a work permit but should do after his next loan in January.
Last nights team
Bogdan
Randall 20
Skrtel
Lovren
Moreno 21 (Smith 21)
Lucas
Can 21
Allen (Henderson)
Lallana
Sturridge (Ibe 20)
Origi 20
Anyone who has watched Smith will know how good he was in the U21s before his loan to Swindon where he continued to do well before the recall and his contract dispute, with that sorted and his cameo last night I really think he can be the 2nd choice LB for the rest of the season. He is fast and can cross with either foot.
At right back Randall had a harder time of it but after the early horrors (not helped by Can it must be said) he grew into the game and even got a shot off as he started to get further up the pitch. I suspect that may be as good it gets as the return of Flanno is not that far away. Also McLaughlin is back, he used to tear up and down the right in the u21s like a mad thing and like Smith has a good cross on him.
Which players do you think can make a case for the second half of the season and/or which get a toe-hold in the squad next summer?
My list
Flanno
Smith
Markovic
Kent
Chirivella
Ojo
