Newcastle have been the better team this half. They deserve to be in front. We have been utter ****e.

What are you on about? As the home team they've had 40% possesion and 2 shots on goal with none on target - hardly deserving to be winning.

Lucas is astoundingly poor. Benteke showing equal shades of Heskey and Ballotelli. He just looks bang average and uninterested.

If we take control of midfield we have this won.

Benteke has been a disgrace, disgustingly lazy. Needs to wake up or he has no chance of making it here under this manager. Cant help but feel if Sturridge had started this the game would be over now, instead we've dug ourselves a hole and they are gaining more and more confidence. Firmino always looks **** with him too.

Not a fan of the team selection. Lallana has been great away, it's at home where he's ****. Obviously missing Can hugely too.

Skrtel ****ting himself when the mighty Papiss Cisse was running at him was embarrassing. Thankfully Lovren bailed him out there.

**** all creativity from midfield apart from Ibe and he seem to want to punt through balls and rifle passes to other players. I'm sure he can soften them up a bit.

There's definitely some nervousness in the team, maybe pressure to repeat this week's 6-1 performance?

Benteke has been awful. Zero movement meaning our attacks break down too easily - you can see the midfielders looking to try to play a pass but he is just standing still, so they get closed down and Newcastle regain the ball.

Does he start most home games? Maybe that's the reason for our poor home form. It'd be interesting to see as a team our goals to min ratio with him on the pitch and without him.

We've been slightly the better team but need to step it up big time second half. Bring on Sturridge for Benteke.

Pretty boring 1st half with no real chances as yet.

I'd like to see Sturridge on for Benteke but he probably won't do that till 60 mins or so. Lallana will come on for Firmino I'd imagine too.

Benteke is looking entirely pointless again, he offers nothing more than Mario or Carroll. Firmino looks like a £5m punt on a player that isn't working out on this display - £62m!
