It's a game based on confidence, some of the players might not have the best football brains but there is a massive hole in the team and it is affecting everyone. In a similar way that the 2013-14 side never knew when they were beaten, because despite the opposition being two up that side knew that they were capable of scoring 5 or 6 and winning the game, this side know that if they concede there arent enough goals in the side for us to win the game and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

I think that if we can plug that gap and get the quality players in who can score goals and lead the team most of these players would be fine in that environment.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm sure this point has been made but I'll make it again - Liverpool went from a team of captains in the 2006-09 period (Masch, Torres, Kuyt, Riise, Hyypia etc), to a team with none at all really. No one is out there chivvying the side along through force of personality or quality.

I've sidled my opinion about lack of leaders on the pitch to the fact that the players we have just aren't that good. Part of it, is that leaders can develop from good players.

And yet during that time period we only won one trophy... the FA Cup in 2006 when we played badly and were very lucky to end up with the silverware (and that despite the fact we were on an 11 game winning streak going into that game).

That Benitez team also lost almost every game it played against Man United home and away so at least the current side has something in common with them!

Looking on the brightside ... we are getting our best players back now .. we are in a Final of one cup, with favourable ties in the other two, we could be on for a triple if things click into place ... this team is not far off, its just when they dont turn up, they really do not turn up .. Moreno seemed to play his best game for us when Smith had a cracking game the previous cup fixture .. he looks a player that needs pushing ... Lucas should be told not to ****ing shoot twice a game from way outside the box ... we all know its coming and we all know the ball is coming down with snow on it ... lay it off ... dont let the ball bounce ... put it in first time when the big man is pointing, put a ****ing man on the post, dont give dangerous players space to get a shot off, put your ****ing foot through it, get the ball to Firmino, make a ****ing run, lay it off .. ****ing lay it off .. same basic things every time

Just walking through a shop in Edinburgh today and saw a pair of kids LFC jammies with Coutinho, Benteke, Milner and Henderson on the front of them.

FFS. We've fallen a long way. Fowler, Gerrard, Torres, Suarez... Even Owen.

You can't give a kid a pair of PJs with Benteke, Hendo and Milner on them. They'll start supporting someone else.

And they were 70% off... Bad times.

Having played, coached and reffed Rugby Union I'm not an advocate of haranguing officials but our players are just too nice and sometimes it's got to be done.

That bald **** tonight needed someone in his ear telling him to stop awarding f-kicks and start booking their players for diving. We just let him make one poor decision after another without any sort of fuss. Keane's United or Terry's Chelsea from a couple of years ago wouldn't put up with those kind of crap decisions without giving it both barrels.
