I just don't understand how we've managed to bin off one immobile striker (Carroll) only to sign another two - Balotelli and Benteke. And how did we manage to be in this position two seasons running?

I remember before we signed Benteke even the likes of Timmy were saying he wouldn't suit us - and here he is. I don't think he's a bad player by the way, just not for us.

Absolute **** show once again. Crosses to nobody, balls pinging off a lead-footed carthorse Benteke, no craft or guile whatsoever, shuffling around ponderously and getting crowded out of it. Got away with it against Sunderland, can't do it all the time.

Worryingly bad display from us. That Southampton game seems a long time ago. And if Benteke has been ****, Firmino has had an epic nightmare. But imo both players will improve, just wish they would be quicker about it.
