I'm all for attacking fullbacks but it's not their job alone to do this. How did they not see the sort of problems Origi or Sturridge cause in this way???

It's just too easy for any defence if they know they will pretty much always be goalside of the opposition.
    In a nutshell.

I'm not a fan of Moreno but our fullbacks do take a lot of stick for doing the whole team's defending and attacking. The rest are incredibly vanilla footballers that even I could set a defensive formation against.

Benteke doesn't work hard enough in this regards and neither does Firmino. They don't even close space or give angles which would be a help. I've lost count of the number of times at Anfield that Klopp bollocks Benteke for not running 10 yards to improve an angle for those behind to start the press
Benteke is completely the wrong striker for us for all the reasons you highlight. Firmino cant play with benteke and its making him look bad in games. He works hard enough but his attacking play isn't at the level it should be - probably because of benteke lack of movement and they're both in the same spaces time and time again.

There is an interesting debate regarding coutinho/firmino. It seems like Klopp has chosen firmino to build his team around because were playing a 4231 in matches. Coutinho doesn't suit that formation at all as he plays a line back in midfield from where he can orchestrate moves better. He suits a 433 alongside a midfielder with a DM behind.

The only way to get them both in a formation which suits them is to play the 442 diamond with Coutinho in the midfield 3 and firmino as the 10. I'm not sure klopp would do that but its a possibility, and if Ings was fit we might have tried that already as he can cover space quickly once we have lost the ball.

We need to score goals and we need a goalkeeper who can play football.

huge issues at the moment. No leadership in the middle of the pitch & nobody to score goals regularly.

            Let's be honest it's a mess everywhere.

Yep, lots to do no doubt about it, but saying that, i'm now more confident than ever that those things will be done, and mediocrity will not be tolerated from here on in.

I'm still as disappointed as ever about a loss, but i find that i'm not as concerned as i used to be about the future, just a whole lot more content now that all we need is time.

I have much more faith in Klopp than I did the other fella.

What a real **** up Rodgers was. I genuinely hate him.

Klopp needs to **** 75% of this pile of trash Rodgers put together off. They're all gutless, spineless and brainless. A pack of ****houses who hide in the corner and wait for others take control...except there's no body that wants that responsibility. So we just get abject, limp performances like that. Our team bar maybe Sakho and Can, hasn't got one fighter. Pathetic.

They keep looking for those opportunities, don't get them then shoot from outside the box.
This was opitimised by Benteke who was requesting the ball be played over the top when he was on the 18 yard line.

                      Pub team tactics.

Harry rednapp got it right, if you play Benteke then get the ball wide and give him crosses. If you're not going to play that way, don't pick him.

i don't think we are capable of playing that style of football (if any style going by yesterday's performance) and there was no oneelse to pick.
When Klopp made the double substitution Alberto Moreno got a high five and Firminio had no reaction from Klopp what so ever.

It appears we just don't hsve the right players for how Klopp wants us to play at the moment both in terms of who's in the squad but also injuries have played a part.

I'm not sure we'll see major surgery quickly but 2 maybe 3 players coming in could make all the difference. We certainly need pace and movement up top but also someone capable of dictating the game in midfield which we just don't have.

You imagine a few at the moment are playing for their Anfield careers and seemingly not doing great jobs of keeping them so far

The resale values will be rock bottom and we still have the likes of Balotelli on our books that we are probably paying half his weekly wage. FSG said when they hired Klopp that we had the players we just needed someone who would be able to release their potential.

Klopp undoubtedly has talent but I don't think he is capable of working miracles.

Next summer is going to be so important. I cannot see FSG sticking around much longer if there is another summer where we spend a **** load of cash on squad players again.

I thought so too, but I think that was a wrong estimate, which still highlights the need to sack Rodgers, he's done more damage than Hodgson FFS.

The approach to transfers has to be to just focus on getting the big players who can make a difference in. If you try and change too much you spread your budget thin and spend alot of money (getting rid of someone and bringing in a replacement) and you end up with little net change in quality probably at a cost of ~£10m. Rodgers did improve the quaility of the squad he just wasted money by spending it in the wrong areas. Bring in players who can make the difference in games and I think the level of all the players we currently have will rise.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
