Could the best thing for us to be have a thouroughly **** season?

I'll stop short of saying no European Cup spot because that could warn off potential investors.

But will Moores finally come to the realization that he's got to let us go to someone with the cash as we aren't going anywhere fast. We might win a cup or two but that only seems to mask the problems for a further season and buys Moores some time to deliberate over it further and hope we pull off the league.

Money decides the table at the end of the day, of this I am sure. Arsenal won't win the league and it's always going to be between Chelsea and Man U unless we change soomething.

To be honest I don't care if we get sold to a Russian Bilionaire or the like now, being a club with a local heart is going to have done us **** all good in 25years time when we're still trying to win the league.

Why does everyone seem to think that money is the root of all our woes?

Arsenal have done better than us in the Premiership without spending like Manure or Chelski.

Money isn't the issue with buying players, we need it to fund the new stadium that's all.

It remains to be seen if they can compete since Mourinho has got chelsea going with Abramoviches cash, and the Glazers have taken over the Scum and are starting to settle.

            That is well said

Our CL success was also not down to the money that was spent either, as other teams were far more costly than ours.

I think it's probably fair to say that Arsene Wenger's approach to management is unlike any other successful manager, and the real reason why Arsenal do so well is down to this.

Don't get me wrong, Rafa is one of (if not) the best in the business at management, but he wouldn't/couldn't bring through the talent that Wenger seemably does every year.

It's this talent that keeps Arsenal where they are.

It will all happen so quickly and we will wake up one morning and it will be a done deal.

And you can bet that Parry will announce that an anouncement will be made in due course...just like he has for the past 3 years.

Liverpool chairman David Moores is close to completing a deal which could see him sell control of the club before the end of the month while raising much-needed funds for a new stadium and investment in the team.

Moores and chief executive Rick Parry will inform the board at a meeting on Thursday of the state of negotiations with a number of parties, led by Dubai International Capital, whose head Samari Ansari is a Liverpool fan.

George Gillett, owner of the Montreal Canadiens ice hockey club and formerly the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team, is rated the other leading candidate to take control, but, although Moores and Parry have visited him for talks, it is understood he has still to make a formal offer.

Others who remain hopeful of sealing a deal include Belfast property millionaire John Miskelly, a Norwegian group led by Oystein Stray Spetalen and Petter Stordalen, and a consortium based in Switzerland put together by Robert Herd, the former chairman of Oxford United.

Moores has a 51 per cent stake in the club and will be a reluctant seller after three years of attempting to seek investment while retaining control.

But it appears he will have to accept that nobody will provide the money Liverpool need without taking over.

A sticking point has been the valuation of Moores' shares. He holds more than 17,000 and priced them at £6,000 each.

The best offer has been £4,000 a share, but agreement is much closer.

If he sells, the money would go to him, but he would seek a guarantee that the buyer would also take out the club's 15,000 unissued shares.

That money would go to the club, who are believed to be more than £80m in debt and need an estimated £200m for the new 60,000-seater stadium.
Almost exactly what was printed in the Telegraph about 10days ago.

I'm looking forward to changing my avatar to Dubai Holdings or Mr Gillet or whatever his name is.

It looks like its on the cards now Kurt - why don't you embrace the possibility?

                                Huuuuummmmmmmm

Why is investment going to start the next golden era like most think?
I for one am very wary of investment (of a total buy out kind).

Remember in the summer that getting Speedy, pennant, kuyt etc was that thing that would win us the league. How wrong and over optimistic we were.

6 months after a new owner comes in we might all be thinking of how overly optimitsic we were that new owners would make us great again!

Its easy enough to get rid of players who havent done it for you and replace them. Doing that with a Owner of a football club is a different matter all together. Just ask Hearts!
