You're the first person I've heard that said our crossing isn't ****. Moreno and Clyne for the positions they get themselves in, have awful end product and the standard of delivery from them and everyone else is poor. Our corners have been a joke for years too.

I think it's fair to say our crossing is **** and Bentekes movement is ****. It's a bit of a **** fest up there.

We utterly dominated that game against the most likely league winners, and yet there's so much more to improve. A good sign maybe, but we need to have this level of performance against the lesser teams too.

Watch how many times we put balls across the face of goal

It happens at least 1 or twice per match, they are the hardest balls to defend

If we had people gambling and attacking the 6 yard box then people wouldn't talk about the poor crossing

Now if you are talking about set pieces then that's another matter

Can't recall the minute it happened in but 2nd half, Ibe in round the back with a brilliant ball across the face of the 6 yard box and Benteke is on the edge of the box.
Then he proceeds to moan at Ibe for not pulling the ball back to him, his positional play in the box is appalling for an international striker, he's supposed to be always on the move attacking space.

He just stands still.
Sturridge and Ings would've have been on hand to tap in, haven't seen enough of Origi to say.

Benkete is reactive, he moves after the ball is played, he doesn't make a run to force the ball to be played to him.

Only saving grace is we'll get £25m back from some other PL club in the summer.

I think not having a consistent player/leader is a major issue.

If we got a penalty, who would take it? I know it's meant to be Jordan Henderson but this must be the first time in a long time when you look through the team and don't really have any confidence in any player to score the penalty. Know what I mean?

Saw the first half late last night, will watch the second half tonight (was at the Chelsea v WBA game so couldn't see it live - don't ask!).

Like I said in the build up thread this game held no fears for me. I just knew we'd turn up for it. And I knew Allen would be be involved somewhere, he just loves playing these big ties - specially against Arsenal and Spurs.

I'm a little more apprehensive of the Utd game though, can sense our players relaxing a little thinking the hard work is done. We tend to do that with lesser clubs.

I agree with Fredo and said the same at the time. He [Benteke] needs to stop demanding it at his feet and find the bloody goal scoring position everyone else thinks is bleeding obvious.

So you don't agree with Fredo then. Fredo reckons the ball should have found Benteke where he was stood on the edge of the area rather than Benteke getting into the 6 yard box and attacking the ball where it went.

Not really, from last night's team I'd have confidence in Hendo, Milner, Can or Lallana taking a penalty.
Probably Firmino as well but I've never seen him take one.

Didn't it feel good to watch a game and be glued to it from start to finish , lots of things to get excited about.

Arsenal played well after half time and we nearly buckled but kept going, very pleasing to see especially after after games recently.

I was impressed with Campbell for them. Giroud was a handful all night as well.

Children need to get ready to go out so I bin off the last 10 minutes. We equalize.
