Good performance from the young lads, led by Allen and Ibe. Defence had **** all to do really, but at least didn't make any mistakes. It's been good seeing some of the young players and it looks like they've enjoyed it. Hopefully some of them will be involved v. West Ham.
Allen and Smith standouts for me. Think Allen might have been withdrawn to preserve him for the next game.

Hope he plays a good few of them also, both fullbacks, Allen, Ibe, Tex maybe
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Oooh and forgot to mention Stewart. I like him, very solid.

Ilori played well tonight as the lone centre half (playing alongside enrique) calm, assured and looked much fitter than he did last game.

Like Redmike I try to catch clips of the yoof when I can. But when they're on TV (and free) you can see the difference in play through the midfield and the final third as compared to our first team. Much slicker, confident, great finishing and everyone trusts each other.

I'd rather they start cup (or even league) games together than be put there with Milner to the left and someone else who can't play on the right. NOT getting to play with our senior players is probably the best thing for their careers this season.

Had we started with Kent Ojo Texeira instead of Benteke we'd have won 6 or 7 nil no probs. Brannagan is such an intelligent player, never thought he would be this good at a slightly higher level. Reads the game brilliantly then has the technique and ****-you confidence to realise it.
            One tit for another.

There's viable alternatives to give Clyne and Moreno regular breaks now and Allen really should be playing more games in the league, in that forward position too, drop Lallana since he has no idea how to score a bloody goal.

Its wildly different playing at their level than the Premier League

A lot are promising but against better teams would get overpowered. They were afforded more time on the ball than they'd get in the prem too

Brannagan looks quite exciting, as does Smith and Ojo; would like to see them against better opposition

Of course they'd get brushed aside. And probably dry ......ed too. Is that still politically correct to say? Its when you walk through hot coals that you learn how. We've got nothing to lose in the league this season, might as well use the opportunity to get Tex, Branno, Ojo and Smith some important life lessons with the big boys.

I thought it was a good performance from the youngsters, good performances for them all to be fair.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

certainly for the last 15-20 mins if we are ever comfortable [unlikely, eh]
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Impossible to decide the best three from tonight's game, which makes a change!

I think Allen should replace Lallana in the first team. Clearly not out of his depth further up the pitch and always looks to play a good pass. He can actually score too!

                              And that luxuriant beard...

I'd say the opposite. What's the point when we're comfortable - the other team would have given up. Not much of a lesson then.

Just start them and tell them to do their best and not to worry about any mistakes. Chance to learn, grab it with both hands, and all that.
