Completely anonymous in the second half.
It sounds like a valid report on 9/10 of Ronaldo's performances in the last 4 years.

In general I think there is an issue for attacking wide players, in that it is hard to judge them when most of their impact is in terms of single moments in possession and offering a threat off the ball. Often being involved more means you aren't doing your role correctly.

Oh I completely agree there dww. I've played on the right wing in a 442 and it is singularly THE worst position on the pitch. The left winger gets all the action because both CBs and the RB tend to be right footers which means the ball is more accurately cleared to the left winger as a natural trajectory. I spent most of my misspent years helping out my RB in defence whenI had more talent and ability than everyone else in the team (dribbling and pace).

Hopefully England switch to 433 or move Ojo central or at least left wing. There's no doubting his talent.

Maybe you should have moved your incredible abilities to a team who could pass to the right as well as the left.

I thought it was a fair comment Vermy.

I played at a low level but at least our team could pass to both sides.

Just felt the 'incredible abilities' bit was a tad bitchy is all.

edit: i only played at primary school level, and i don't think they passed to the part of the pitch i was in, so i can't comment.

Not sure I've ever heard or noticed anything like this while ever playing football. Surely it's a case of looking for the free man, regardless of which wing and if anything would be easier for a right footer to play a hopeful straight ball down the outside than hit an inch perfect cross field ball that will go out of play if not spot on. Even if it was just hoofed clear, follow through would have that curving right.

You sure you were as good as you say Chief, sounds to me like your teammates were avoiding passing it to you?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Saturday football lot? "Moving to another team that can pass the ball better"....hahahhahaha you do realise I live in England. Home of world cup winners circa 1966. I played 11 a side during the glorious hoofball period of the mid90s.

"Move to another side that can pass to both sides" is a fanciful and idealistic thought. Revolutionary. You would probably have got burnt at the stake if you suggested it then.

I just moved back to 5 a side which I still play to this day. To a very good level that I'm happy to test against any youngster who thinks he's the next Messi.

Bump for the best youth at the club right now (esp as Canos has buggered off!).

Another game another big moment this time a goal, Klopp says he doesn't know if he'll keep him or loan him, I really think he is at a level where he'd actually be better staying. Sure game time will be scarce but he'll be training with the squad every week and can certainly start Cup ties and if game time is needed there's no reason why he can't drop into the U23's for the odd match.

I put in the 'Thinning the Squad' thread that he should be back-up for LW, and I think it was you who said for RW. Either way, I think getting more time from the bench, and the few starts here and there should be the next step for him with us.

I think that he should stay and get minutes from the bench, he is a quick, direct player which makes him ideal to come on late in games against tired defences and we don't have too many players that fit into that category
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think this lad will be the next breakthrough into the first team, so basically the next Sterling.

I really like him, he looks a wonderful footballer and as mentioned when I created this thread he reminds me of Barnes a bit in the way he moves.

He could do with having more confidence and take people on like Barnsey used to do, he will obviously never emulate him as a footballer no one will as he was ****ing wonderful but Ojo has a lot of talent that is plain to see.

I hope he get some game time early this season so we can see what he's capable of. A talent for sure.

I'm sure Klopp will be looking to get him all beefed up to look after himself & not be intimidated by older sturdier defenders who will be pissed off with a junior player taking the piss out of them...would be good overall for club & himself to able to look after himself on the pitch.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!
