Tory chanting. They're very fond of it at Old Trafford.

Look at him when Norwich score their first and fourth, it's ****in comedy stuff, I can think of two other Liverpool defenders that would get absolutely slaughtered on here if that was them. I love him but he needs to improve his form.
I'm a big fan but he's poor in general of late. Thought he did very well v United but he's been decidedly average otherwise. The first goal he's on his heels and once the ball lands he's screwed cos he can't stick a leg in and give away a pen. He should be barging everyone and everything out of the way for that and attacking it as it drops. Maybe the keeper should be too if he wasn't such a goal line hugging ****house. The last one he just doesn't react quick enough.
I think things will improve when Lovren is back (never thought I'd say that
) cos he's our best header of a ball. The first goal, Can loses his man and header for the knock back across goal,Toure loses the second header and Sakho doesn't even attempt the third. You can't not win 3 headers in a row in your own box, it's hideous stuff. I love Toure too but he's atrocious in the air and our inability at that across the entire team is a big problem.

Nobody in our defence can really take any plaudits over the last three or 4 years. It has been shambolic. Our defence are shipping goals to an extent where any good attacking play we have is quickly undone by the pressure we put ourselve under. Anyone who comes to play us must at least fancy they will grab a few goals. We need a few new players back there, and one leader to organise the rest of them.Modifying post.

The defence has been a real issue since we finished in 2nd under Rafa nobody seemingly has found the answer to fixing this. Hopefully once Klopp gets some time to work on things properly back there rather than playing game after game and we get in 1 or 2 new defensive players (keeper & a CB) I think it's going to be a problem.
Every single time a corner is given against us I expect us to conceed.

He's the Lucas Leiva of defenders. Gets injured regularly, comes back crap before finding brilliant form. Rinse and repeat.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostBig style. His form since the last injury has been piss poor, it's like all his bad moments rolled into one sequence of bad displays. When he's on it he's pretty much a colossus - he's been magnificent at times - but this is ****e. He's always carrying knocks and niggles which can't help. One tit for another.

Reads like a cliche to me. I get your point and you'd be kinda right if our defence was doing the basics right ... but they're not; There are issues with the fundamentals right across our back four.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostWe defend as a team and attack as a team. If we concede too many goals then questions need to be asked of the whole team.

It may read like a cliche, but it's true. If our other players kept possession better then it wouldn't invite as much pressure on the defence. I just think that the whole balance of the team hasn't been right for a long time, we don't have players who will take responsibility. We need some strong characters in the team and everyone needs to help to retain the ball, to attack and defend.

That's true as a general point but I would be amazed if any sane person thought our leaky defence was primarily down to the more attacking players in the team not doing enough or poor ball retention.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostIt may read like a cliche, but it's true. Ask the questions of the whole team for sure, but the answers are largely that the back five and defensive mid have largely been poop.Last edited by Red_Polo; 24-01-16, 06:44 PM.Like blood on iron

That game may just be the turning point in our season. By the time we play the mighty Leicester a week Wednesday we may have a new signing or two plus a couple of the injured lads back and our next two PL fixtures are Sunderland at home and relegated Villa away. Leicester's next two after us are City and Arsenal away. If they start to tire and we start to gain on them who knows?I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Everytime we win it's always said that that was our turning point in the season! We just come back to earth with a bang with losses to the likes of Watford, Crystal Palace etc...
I honestly think that we'll just continue to see an up & down season for the remainder of this season and even the summer transfer window won't exactly go all our way. It's gonna be a couple of years and a few transfer windows for us to build a decent squad again. I just hope Kloppo stays for the long haul!
