Leicester will probably be relegated next season with the pressures of European football and league on top but at least they might have a league title under their belt. They are having a good run of it with largely one game a week to focus on and their main front men having blinder seasons, much like us two years ago.

They can't be held up as the ones to imitate because we want to compete on all fronts but we still have to recruit far better than we have been for far too long and that starts with those responsible for buying players.

I've been gutted, cause I didn't bother going for the cup games as I couldn't afford them....and we've played the kids in the cup games and they've prob been games I'd rather go to watch.

This Saturday for example....I'd be much more up for it if I knew we were going to start the four you mentioned
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I've completely lost faith in our transfer policy. Every club makes bad transfers, but we are taking things to a whole new level.. it's very disheartening.

We never get in behind anyone. So we don't ever stretch the game.we must be so easy to defend against because you can guarantee the game will happen in front of you. You'll never get turned, because we have none who can run in behind.

We also lack muscle in midfield - we look physically an easy team to outmuscle. No pace, and no muscle.... Not a great combination.

We play too much in front of teams, but we did that under Brendan

Attacking players / forwards - PACE

              Midfielders should have muscle

Look at Kante the man is a machine and hes not that big yet he works hard covers ground and is strong

                Summed up perfectly...

Bleak night for #LFC. Toothless up top, lightweight in midfield and vulnerable at the back. Can't blame fatigue for a performance that poor.

Whenever we are linked with an attacking player and I watch the inevitable Youtube clips the players that interest me are the quick ones who run at and in behind defences

I was surprised we didnt go after that Inaki Williams

Teams like Leicester can afford to take a punt on unproven players like Vardy or Mahrez. If they flop, no big deal, they're relegation contenders anyway.

So they can express themselves knowing that there's not massive pressure on them to succeed to the same level as Real Madrid.

That's why we buy the players for the sums we do, it's expected of us, anything less and the pressure would be greater.

****s me to tears watching us though. I wish we'd bin off the FA Cup and focus on the final and the Europa.

I also want Brannagan to play more. If managers trust players like Ali and Pogba at under 20 years of age then so can we.
                      Was muß, das muß.

That alone would improve us no end and then we carry on doing that each window for all the other areas lacking. This buying squad players lark has to stop, it does my nut in but we've done it for years.

We've spent more than all but City and Chelsea in the last 30 years and the vast majority of it has been spent poorly.

Quality not quantity please and keep it that way.

Agreed. And we've seen with Suarez that the best players will pull in an extra 10% from everyone around them. We need match winners plain and simple.

For me, our passing, even though it's crisp and to feet most of the time, can be pretty laboured. I think alot of the players can release the ball quicker/find their man quicker and on the other hand sometimes we give the ball away way too cheaply trying a pass which is just not on or can be easily read.

Basically, passing choice is poor and that's really down to natural judgement of players, which you can't teach.

The real top class players, or potentially very good players.....we either can't afford, or when we do identify one we can, we get priced out or a "bigger" club comes along and blows us out the water....

So we are left with trying to pick the best of the rest, from lesser sides....so the likes of Lallana/lovren, look like the main men at Southampton...Southampton don't have to sell...but we are desperate, so we we go in at over the odds.

This has happened for years to us.

That said, surely our scouts can do better. We've been desperate and crying out for someone strong, pacy, hard, good engine in the centre of midfield for about four years and Leicester find that kante for about £6m

We won't usually pay the wages. Unless that changes we'll have a slightly larger pool of players to choose from due to the Klopp factor but not much else.

Milner and any fringe player = a genuine world class player which you might be paying £35m for when they become available. We just need to pay the wages for the best players and do the clever stuff with the rest of the squad.
