If we reduced prices other clubs would be forced to follow cos their own fans wouldn't stand for it so we wouldn't have to squeeze the fans to close the gap in revenues. And there are other ways, like not buying loads of over priced **** players and not paying way more than our rivals in agents fees at the same time. FSG had a chance to lead the way and put the fans first, whats £2m in the scheme of things? A fraction of an agents fee most likely but a reduction of the same amount would make a difference to those who go the game.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostThis is by far the best argument against the new prices I've read.
Not sure I'd say swelling coffers for no good reason though. It'll go towards making us successful, bridging the gap in match day income between us and our rivals is sadly one of the things we need to do if we want to be consistently challenging. This is a systemic problem, not a club one. If people are wanting to protest against the scourge of capitalism in football I'm right there, but poking a finger in FSG's eye isn't the way forward for me, much as the issue is real and the intention good.

FSG won't really care as long as they make a return on the outgoings. Have much has been the net spend last year? It would be minimal I guess.Originally posted by G View PostIf we reduced prices other clubs would be forced to follow cos their own fans wouldn't stand for it so we wouldn't have to squeeze the fans to close the gap in revenues. So do I. As stated by a good few on here I think a new, top class spine and things would look a lot rosier. We simply have a squad full of workmanlike players and not enough top drawer quality. A new Keeper of Ter Stegen's ilk and a top class forward or two would make things a lot rosier, a top centre back and commanding midfielder would follow next.Originally posted by Fredo View PostI strongly disagree and that would be completely ludicrous.
We can't have another summer of massive player turnover, we need to focus the funds on a small number of players straight out of the top drawer.

For the record my ST has stayed the same price but am I naive enough to think that it will not go up in the future am I ****e.I can afford it now just about but why should I be priced out when there is more money that ever before in the game where were sky in 1985 when I got my first season ticket where was John Henry in 1986 he wasn`t travelling to the Wirral to watch lfc play York on a big screen at Tranmere`s ground
I know Football has changed and in some respects not for the better but if you wanna replace the likes of me and my mates who i go with and the Lads on the kop who actually make an effort with more of a lot of what is happening at Anfield good luck with selling your £77 tickets in a few years timeOh I say his vision there was lovely

What about wingers? We've been linked with Williams, Teixeira, and Sane. I agree that we need a GK, CB, CM and a CF, but our squad is severely lacking in wide players.
With the amount of central playmaking players in our squad, one or two quality wide players has the ability to transform this team.

Bit tight calling him little, I thought he was quite tall.Originally posted by rodo View PostYou only have to look at how little John Henry either attends or even comments nowadays. In my opinion he is looking to sell the club with the new TV deal and ground expansion giving him the profit he will be looking forKlopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Yep. And time on the training pitch in pre season for Klopp. Focus on a playing style and start the season well. We cannot afford another mediocre season and certainly cannot afford losing another manager.Originally posted by G View PostSo do I. Priorities. Our team in the near miss season showed the value of top class strikers when the rest of the team isn't up to much and United for two seasons now show the value of a top class GK. Put them both together and I don't think many people will have reason to be lamenting our lack of wingers.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View PostWhat about wingers? 7th highest according to that.Originally posted by Mattshark View Post4th highest in the league I believe.
So, we're not over exceeding ourselves, especially when you see the likes of Leicester spending the same amount and Spurs and Arsenal spending even less. Are we winning?

I understand your point. My counter-argument (I truly believe we need a striker, don't get me wrong) is that we need goals from other sources, and wide players who can make space, and make penetrating runs will not only help in creating chances, but score goals themselves.Originally posted by G View PostPriorities. I think we need at least one winger along with the other positions you mentioned.
