Jurgen Klopp strides into the Melwood room, flashing that toothy grin at the waiting press pack. Then it is down to business.
First up? Liverpool's consistency. Or, more accurately, inconsistency. The eight-placed Reds go to 14th-placed Palace on Sunday, aiming to close the six-point gap on the fourth and fifth placed Manchester clubs
"I would like to say from now on we would take every point but we have to show it. Consistency was not our hobby this season."
Liverpool news conference
Liverpool are searching for their third straight Premier League win after seeing off Aston Villa and Manchester City in recent weeks.
But Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is not thinking about a top-four finish. Or so he claims....
"We are in a good way but now it's Crystal Palace and I didn't forget the first game. We have to take points back," says the German.
"I don't think about the top four. We have a lot of points to get and we should start getting as many as we can."
Liverpool news conference
So Lucas Leiva being ruled out is bad news. But there is some good news for Liverpool fans.
England striker Daniel Sturridge trained "completely normally" yesterday, we're reliably informed by Jurgen Klopp. And France centre-back Mamadou Sakho is back in training too. He's recovered from that strop, sorry...head injury, during the League Cup final defeat.
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins
That moment when you are in with the home fans then we score and you leap up punching the air is always interesting
I was in the same seat in the 3-3
Managed to control myself for every goal we scored and then stood up with my hands in my pockets when they scored so it wasn't obvious. A couple of lads behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said 'no need to stand mate, you've been respectful'. Stayed sitting for the other goals they scored and had my hair messed up by them but all good natured. Fair play
Was different a Craven Cottage when we won 1-0 with a late late goal as there were two of us together and we didn't give a **** if we got kicked out that late. Little did we know that the end behind the goal was mixed support and 50% were Reds
