That's why I prefer having a home leg first. I know managers prefer to play at home 2nd and the stats prove that it's an advantage but I like having the opportunity to kill a game off at home first leg and if that doesn't work, having the chance to go all out for an away goal in the 2nd leg if needed.

United could batter us for 80 minutes, be winning 3-0, then we stick a few forwards on, go gung-ho and get an undeserved last minute penalty. Job done.

a) LFC finishes in say 6th, out of the champs league spot,
b) Dortmind finishes 2nd in their league, automatic champs league spot

THEN:
say LFC gets Dortmund in the EURO final, we LOSE (touch wood)

What happens? i mean winner of EURO cup gets a champs spot auto, but they already have that spot through their league placing, does the runner up get the champs league spot?

I thought that the Europa League winners place only goes to the winners if they haven't qualified through their league position, if they qualify via their league position I thought it went to bumping the top ranked team in the CL qualifiers automatically to the group stage. But the rules are so complicated...

I'm going to next weeks game at their place as I'm going through work with some corporate tickets but have mixed feelings about it. Hearing their scumbag fans sing hillsbrough songs is going to be hard to stomach and it's my first Liverpool united game.

I remember Shaggy saying he went and it wasn't the nicest experience.

i'm doing the same thing and i am thinking "why the **** did i agree to go to it?" I went to a league game years ago when we lost 3-0 (when Mascherano got sent off) and i remember thinking afterwards, never again. It was horrible. Their "fans" were disgusting cunts....


With the tie in general, United on reflection have done well to get away with a 2-0 defeat. That was a 4-0 defeat performance but as it stands, they are still in the tie. If they go 1 up at all in the game, even if it is after 80 minutes, then they might fancy their chances. The game isn't won yet. And i think we have to score there to be sure of going through.

I wouldnt be too sad to see Origi play next week. Pace to hit them on the break.
