I'd look to be making 2 or 3 changes a game. The fullbacks have played alot of football this season so I'd like to see Flanagan and Smith get more game time to ease the pressure on Clyne and Moreno. Also I think we have problems in CM with Can and Henderson out so I'd like to see some of the kids in there involved at some point. Also Ojo was great last week and deserves some game time as well.

I think we need to concentrate on finding a solution (or ideally solutions) in central midfield. Other rotation/changes should be in support of that effort. Even if that is a shame in terms of probably limiting chances from some of the younger players.

He needs to give some players a breather too. I was wondering whether he'd play both Sturridge and Origi this time, with Bobby F and Lalllana supporting and Pirlo and Lucas sitting. Maybe a game for Smith too.

None of that sounds high risk to me, and it means more match time for those coming back from injury and a rest for a number of players..

          Ojo, Stewart, Allen, Ibe

          Firmino, Sturridge

Surely not? I was expecting us to play a weakened team (not that weak), then realised that Kopp will surely want to get back into the Europa next season as insurance if we don't win it this year. I can understand resting players like last week before a big match, but I don't see such need for it here.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I can see how he'd like to avoid more injuries after the Dortmund game but we also have to keep up match fitness for the next Europa, which is the 28th IIRC.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

There's also the derby midweek which means we have 3 games in a week, I guess that this is the game to rest players for

This match will be harder than Everton (who will be resting players for FA Cup semi), so I'd be inclined to play strong teams for the next two then look to rest against Newcastle, ahead of our own semi final.

Newcastle? what are the chances of that game being the final nail in their relegation coffin ? and being the side that send Rafa's team down.

Just like football for it to be like that.

Nah, after yesterday, they have a few weeks left yet. If we do rest players, I wouldn't put it past them to beat us.

I'd love to see this, but drop Ibe obviously.

I like that team if true, enough changes to rest players but still enough attacking threat to win. City winning yesterday ended any tiny glimmer we still had/hoped for 4th. More worried about getting through this without an injury to Allen. Really worried this Can injury is Hendo's ban of 2013/2014.

                            Is Flanagan injured?

Weird isn't it? Haven't heard word one about him for a while now...

Would prefer a stronger line up than that.

                                Mig in goals.

Would have Flanagan and Caulker in place of Randall and Lucas in the backline.

Then if Lucas needs a start put him, Allen and Stewart as the midfield trio. A bit workmanlike but would give Allen and Lucas minutes together.

Then would have Firmino, and Ojo floating behind Sturridge in a front three.

That way Clyne, Lovern, Sakho, Moreno, Milner, Lallana, Coutinho, and Origi are all rested for the midweek game against Everton
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
