Obviously it's not a concrete figure as the opposition may well have tucked away another opportunity. But without those errors and those goals not being conceded, hypothetically we would have been 15 points better off.
Sure, but it's clearly bollocks though. Benteke ****ing up numerous one on ones, Skrtel being Skrtel, Sakho's drugs, etc they can all contribute to losses and draws, whether or not the keeper has conceded a goal he shouldn't have. And all keepers concede soft goals on occasion, so all teams have missed out on x points because of their keeper.

There's no such thing as a goalkeeper who never makes mistakes. I don't watch a lot of top-level football beyond our own games so I have no idea who we could replace Mignolet with, but just someone who makes fewer errors.

Hard to put a number on how many points he's cost us but he certainly has cost us a fair few. Reminds me a bit of David James, can be great on occasions but just far too many silly mistakes for him to be reliable enough as our long term number 1.

The league is secondary to the Europa now anyway so we really must concentrate on that

It's much the same as arguing who's at fault for a goal - Mignolet not collecting the cross, the centre-back not getting up earlier, or the ball coming in in the first place. It's the joys of debating football and very much like the league tables that show where teams will be if their efforts that hit the woodwork went in, etc, in the sense it's hypothetical.

You only have to look at where Manchester United are in the league with a competent 'keeper earning them points. It works in reverse too as we are seeing with Mignolet.

True, they're fifth and out of Europe. We're four points behind and in a semi.

Anyway, it's an area we should be improving on. That's pretty much all there is to say.

Haven't seen the game but sounds like the main men were a bit mentally exhausted. That's fine and when our **** up players have to bring their A game. Unfortunately Mig is simply unable to. I will worry if he's starting the first game of next season.

exactly that is why the last couple month I haven't taken any notice of anyone saying we can get top4,we lost it long ago.

Top 4 was long long gone .... we have been on a great run of games ... lots and lots of changes .. finally caught up with us and to be fair Newcastle responded well to going 2 nil down ...not that fussed ... more worried about Sakho's failed drug test

Basically main players having off day. The not so main men have to see this and avoid any **** ups, ie see the game through.

Anyone know why Flanagan isn't playing? Is he injured again? Starting to **** me off.

After hearing Klopp's comment prior to the Bitter match with regard to "red mist" type of play and adding 2 + 2 together and ending up with **** nose what.

I believe Flanagan is being taught a lesson for intentionally crunching St£rling in the Citeh game

Taught a lesson? It was arguably that tackle that inspired the performance.
