He'd just sprinted flat our for at least 40 yards with a defender on his heels, I can't blame him for not knowing Ibe was on the far side and having a dig. He created one of best chances.

No, even at 0 - 0 we would require 2 goals to be certain to go through

How was it there for the taking? They scored on the counter when we didn't have a striker, changing formation would have only increased that risk.

Hindsight is great but we were doing our job well and changing formation would have been a risk that may not have been worth taking.
Away goal gives such an advantage and we had so many good positions a striker of Sturridge class could have made the difference.

I dont get the logic that its good to be at 0-0 in an away game. They were purposely being more tight to make sure we dont score. They'll come out attacking in the next game and just 1 away goal will really be a huge hit for us. We can't score 4 goals every time.

I understand why klopp went with the conservative strategy and chose firming over sturridge but at the same time the team has been in great form lately, especially in front of goal. Would have fancied us getting an away goal even if we conceded.

Then again maybe studge has a knock, who knows. Would have at least liked to see him on for the last ten.

I thought Moreno and Allen played brilliantly. Harsh to say Moreno should have slotted that given he was full speed, faster than most people can ever run. In the past people have said Allen is a wimp, that's not true. He gets stuck in for a small man but more importantly he has the courage to play forward balls through tight spaces that others in the team wouldn't do. You need players like this to by-pass an opposition press or unlock a well structured defence.

Mignolet also deserves a mention, that was an outstanding save against bakambu.

Well I still feel confident that we'll do it next week.

We took the game to Dortmund away from home and should have won it yet we come here and show this inferior team loads more respect and we got punished at the end for that lack of ambition. Your in the minority if you don't think we should have taken the game to them. They are nothing special. Draw would have been decent but the away goal was there for us and we may well rue not being arsed with getting one.

They weren't that great but it is set up for their normal style at Anfield, will be tough.

                              Exactly. Well put.

I expect klopp to drop a clanger in the league but not in Europe. It's negative and I think that passed to the players.

I don't think we will go through. I think we were **** in the league cup final and we have made it hard to win this cup.
