    [PL] Swansea (A): Post Match

    As soggy as the weather.

Terrible aimless, listless stuff. Skrtel again, the midfield were never at it and maybe it was foolish to think they could be as Swansea decided to take the game seriously. Sturridge meh.

I really hope we win on Thursday because if we don't this season will have a very pitiful look to it.

Hopefully it's like Rafa's first season, shambolic towards the end cos our focus was elsewhere, successfully as it turned.

    Never play Skrtel again, please!

Was like Crystal Palace away before the Chelsea semi in 2005. Good signs!!

That was awful, especially the first half. Chirivella is gonna have nightmares.

Bit of a rubbish game but we fielded the youngest team in our history so to be expected.

I was never really that bothered by the result.

It is ALL about Thursday. Would have been nice if the stiffs had got a result today... but ultimately - Who gives a ****?

Who cares, we're safe from the drop.
                Are we winning?

For me that performance showed what I have been saying for a while we lack leaders and players who will dominate the game, too many players who look for others to make the difference.

Yes we started with alot of youngsters, but for me the experienced players have to take the blame for me, they have to help the kids through the game, the two lads in midfield in the first half in particular - ideally you would have an experienced head in the midfield 'babysitting' but there were 3 experienced defenders behind them (Clyne, Lovren and Skrtel) that should have been helping out with instructions. Then if there are problems in the midfield we have Coutinho in an attacking role who should be experienced enough to drop back a bit, make the extra man in midfield and help out. We didn't see any of that today the only one showing leadership was Lucas when he came on, and we looked much better then until we gifted them the third goal.

Similarly with the Smith red card I think if you have experienced players or calm heads around they can ensure he doesn't do something like that, for me that is just inexperience.

I felt sorry for Ward in particular, conceeding 3 goals (none of which were his fault) after making some decent saves in the first half to keep us in the game was rough on him.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

One thing is for sure .. Skirtel and Lovren cannot play with each out . Lovren looks like a totally different player everytime Marty plays .... his time at LFC are well and truly numbered ... a complete ****ing waste of time that game ... none of the young guys covered themselves in glory ... on to the next game

It's all about Thursday, our season comes down to that, because there's little chance of us getting into Europe through our league position now. Today's game has hopefully taught the youngsters a few lessons and perhaps the manager and coaching staff a few things about the players we have and what we need.

For me the kids struggled so badly because the experienced players in the side let them down. As a youngster in those situations you need the experienced players to help you and talk you through, the two kids in CM in particular, ideally we would have had an experienced head in there from the start, but the experienced defenders (Clyne, Lovren and Skrtel) should be giving them instructions, similarly Coutinho is experienced enough to see they are struggling so IMO should drop back and become the extra man in midfield to help us get a foot hold in the game. The problem is that the experienced players are all 'passive players' who are looking to others to lead the side of make the difference when IMO they need to step up. I think this lack of leadership is visible in most games but was really an issue today. Lucas made a difference when he came on, and if we hadn't gifted them the third goal I think we would have got something out of the game.

Missing Can, Henderson, Sakho, Ings and Origi is too much for us to deal with at the minute. Inevitable that a team made up of bits and pieces would look ****.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
