It's top four into CL, 5-7 into Europa. If we and City both win Europa/CL end finish below 4th, the fourth placed team doesn't go into CL.

We are actually two wins (one of them has to be +2 g.d.) away from "fourth", when you think about it... Except that this one comes with a trophy.

7th is only relevant if Man Utd win the FA Cup and that position will mean two qualification rounds I think.

7th will only go in to Europa if United win FA Cup. 5th gets the League spot. City winning League Cup means that spot goes to 6th.

          Cheers lads ...

At this stage I think I would like to give the Europa a miss ... as much as I enjoyed our adventures ... the thought of Jurgen Klopp with time on his hands to work with his team next season is too tempting

Anyone else not arsed about qualifying if we don't make the CL through the Europa?

A season where we can bed new players in without having to worry about the ****ty Thursday schedule wouldn't be too bad.

              I'd rather have European football.

Coefficient points are going to be hugely valuable for getting a half decent draw when we do get back in. We can still use the games for squad rotation and bedding in the younger or less experienced players. If we get to the last 16 or so then we can start treating it seriously.

With another season out of Europe we will be pot 3 if we are lucky.

I'm not exactly "not arsed" as I enjoy the Europa as well. But I do think we're right to go for it and concentrating only the semi now, we should try to win it when we're in it, but if we're not in it next season, then that will also have it's perks.
                  * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

As season without European football doesn't feel right

Regarding the coefficient this season our coefficient suffered because we have 2 seasons where we didn't qualify, next season we lose that and we don't want to replace it with another season with nothing.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If it didn't effect any hopes of signing the players we want I'd happily miss out for a season and watch what Klopp can do while focused on the league only.

If it's the EL he just needs to have a split squad, I'm sure Daniel will be happy to play against the likes of Fiorentina, Celtic, Legia Warsaw

European football with a manager who takes it seriously, will help the squad deal with two games a week on a regular basis, as well as giving football to the entire squad.

Spurs have had Europa League football for a while, and now some of their youngsters are progressing well thanks to it.

Does the team that wins the EL go straight into the CL group phase or qualifying playoff phase?
