European football with a manager who takes it seriously, will help the squad deal with two games a week on a regular basis, as well as giving football to the entire squad.
Spurs have had Europa League football for a while, and now some of their youngsters are progressing well thanks to it.
Does the team that wins the EL go straight into the CL group phase or qualifying playoff phase?
Explained below.
Where the winners enter
• The UEFA Champions League winners will be entered in the UEFA Champions League group stage as normal.
• The UEFA Europa League winners will be entered in the UEFA Champions League (at a minimum level of the play-offs).
• The UEFA Europa League winners will be elevated into the group stage if the UEFA Champions League winners qualify directly for the UEFA Champions League group stage via their domestic league programme – something which has happened last season to the benefit of Sevilla, and indeed every year since the turn of the century bar 2005, 2007 and 2012.
Ok so here I am going to ask,, hypothetical, what if we get to the final, we lose to a team, but that team has already qualified for CL through their own league? Does we the runner up get that cl spot?

Yes

Spurs dropped points by drawing away to Swansea, by drawing 0-0 at home to Chelsea (who were ****e at the time) and lost at home to Newcastle this season. All those results being after a Thursday night europa game. I'm sure right now all of their players would love to have 4 or 5 extra points in the premier league. Plus Spurs probably got the balance right in terms of playing youth and squad players in the europa league.
Don't get me wrong, games like the Dortmund home match are brilliant but take two steps back and look at the bigger picture at the end of the season and it will be home games against the likes of Norwich, Southampton, Crystal Palace and West Brom - all dropped points, at home, after europa league matches. 9 points dropped. So if we win the europa league (i think we will go to the final, not sure if we will win it) then it will have been worth it, but if we don't then it will have potentially cost us (impossible to know for sure) playing in the champions league next season.
For me, rewind a couple of years and we very nearly won the premier league. We didn't play in europe that year and essentially from feb onwards had one game to play a week. Brendan Rodgers had a whole week to prepare his team for their weekend opponents and we very nearly (and should have) taken number 19 back to anfield. Imagine what Klopp could do with the same scenario. Fock it, Leicester City just won the league with the same scenario.
For me, next season there will be a lot of movement in management circles and we will have a chance to hit the ground running amid all the uncertainty. So while Pep gets used to Man City, while whoever new gets used to Man United, while Conte gets used to Chelsea, then Klopp can hopefully make some hay while the sun shines. (Incidently, I think Chelsea will be a big challenger next season because they will have no european football - Conte will have a lot of time on the training ground. As much as he is a knob, they would be stupid not to extend John Terry's contract because one game a week is very manageable for him)
So although it would be great to win the europa league, although the Dortmund game was amazing, although beating Villareal would be great, and although there would be positives to being in europe next season, I will also see the positives to not being in europe as well.
There is a story Tony Soprano tells his uncle Junior in an early episode of the series. He talks about 2 horny bulls, father and son, standing on top of a hill looking down on a field full of cows. The son bull says "quick quick....lets run down the hill and **** one of those cows" but the father says "Son......lets walk down and **** 'em all"
Runners up don't get in. It's an extra place for the winners only if they don't already have one from their league position. If they do have one, one of the teams having to play in the qualifiers gets automatically put into the group stage instead.

So then who gets the now empty qualifier place? Or the determinate ofthat team that also gets an auto place?
Do you get where I am going with this?
