On the last replay, you see how much of the goal the guy can see. I reckon they are a metre at least too far to the right (as we look).

That said, he should still have dealt with the shot.
Keeper’s responsibility to place the wall - only ore season and he dropped a clanger in the warm up vs Chester and one tonight vs Tranmere. The knives are already out.

Imagine he ****s up vs West Ham and costs us a goal.......

Yeah, I wasn't defending him, I know its the keepers responsibility for the wall.

It is not the start Lo-risk needed, but it was almost guaranteed he will be nervous post CL final. As you say once the season begins this will only get tougher for him.

I'm guessing we have a plan, and I am guessing after seeing this kind of thing we will be going all out for a replacement. Klopp has defended players before, but he has also dropped them when they have let him down.

The issue will be who we go for?

Give him a fresh start somewhere else.
I think you've got to give him a massive break and ease him in, or ship him out. You have to have some compassion for him, but that doesn't work when he's between the sticks, only when he's off the pitch.

I liked the idea of bringing in some experienced end of career keeper as a safe pair of hands whilst you bring him back up to the level he should be but it doesn't look like that has happened.

Oh my that lad around 9 seconds in must have been a very disappointed Liverpool fan after the final
He's (fairly obviously ) a Red. Ben Tollitt. It's grim.

Klopp isnt going to publicly throw Karius under the bus, but I doubt it changes the fact we will be looking to sign a new keeper.

              Subasic please...!

It’s like when Mig went through that horrible patch. Poor bloke. Although the insta didn’t really generate sympathy.

It's a bad mistake, but in fairness it is one that keepers make from time to time. If he hadn't made that mistake in the CL final, most of us would probably have written it off as early in preseason a lack of focus and game time. It would have been unfortunate but not a major cause for concern. The problem for Karius is that since the CL mistake did happen he is going to be under the microscope and any error jumped on. He has now made 3 horrendous errors in his last 180 mins of football, he is in calamity territory, presumably what is going through his head is "don't make a mistake, don't make a mistake..." and it is distracting him from his game. I said after the CL game it's going to be about how he handles things mentally. At the moment it doesn't look like he is handling it. IMO he needs to rediscover his confidence and form somewhere away from the first team and we need a new someone else in goal. What happens long term I don't know but in the short term at the very least he shouldn't be in the side.

At this rate Mignolet walks back into the side. Shocking really.

Maybe the club need to get rid of Achtenberg as well.

He must be a bag of nerves and every **** up leads to the next one, I stupidly thought he could just ‘get over it’. Concussion or not I struggle to think of a worse performance in such a big game by anyone EVER.

Each mistake compounds the previous one and he is now in a situation where he could go 6 months of perfection and one error leads to them baying for his blood again. Surely the best thing for all parties would be for him to leave - even on loan back to a Germany out of the spotlight would help.

Damn, I didn't mind him staying but the errors can't keep adding up! I still don't mind him staying but at worst we simply must upgrade Mignolet so theres another decent option if needs be.
