I'm wondering if I'm overthinking Klopp's post-match interview, when he talked about Karius and still having bad thoughts after his first error.
He did pull off a few saves before the second error, but it sounded to me like Klopp believed his head went after the Benzema goal, and he never really recovered. It takes major balls to dust yourself off after a cock-up in the biggest club game in football, but now I'm wondering about the mentality. We were still in it at 2-1 down. One crazy set piece, and we could've been back in it, yet Karius still faltered.
I don't think Klopp will sell him straight away, as he'll probably point to this experience as a massive learning curve, but there will be questions raised on Karius' mentality when it comes to the biggest stage, despite him being in goal for the City and Roma games. His decision-making is now under scrutiny, and he didn't step up when it mattered. As much as Lovren gets stick, he was immense last night. Karius lacked (cue Brendanism), the character to carry on.Comment

Only downside is that every club willing to sell their keeper knows we're desperate and will increase the price accordingly.

I have never seen a mistake like the first one. I just couldn't believe it... Still can't. Second mistake reminds me off Bonner vs Holland. His mentality before this game was weak... ****ed now.
I woke up with hangover and realisation we blew it, Karius wakes up this morning with the realisation that he cost us the European Cup. Never rated him before this game and now just want rid.
