Karius has two full seasons in the Bundesliga under his belt, and his stats are pretty good and he was only behind Leno and Neuer in the vote for the best goalkeeper. I have a good feeling about him to be honest, the price is a snip as well. We've got three players in for about 10 million now, excluding sign on fees.

This is how Klopp operates, and he has some track record. The reason we got him cheap is because he had a release clause in his contract. Karius is part of a very good bunch of German keepers and probably the only one we could realistically attract.

We're gonna struggle to attract the more established players until we qualify for CL on a regular basis, it's why we end up paying end up paying massive fees for the likes of Firmino, Lallana and Benteke

His fellow pros voted him as second best after Neuer so he seems to be pretty highly rated.

Anyway, the thing that I'm most pleased about is he isn't Mignolet and he isn't Bogdan.

Surprised Weidenfeller isn't on that list although i watch no German football outside of Europe.

I am somehow warming to a German GK. There's been plenty of WC ones or thereabouts recently - hopefully this fella will develop into one. Perhaps needs to bulk up a bit but he's only what - 22 - shouldn't be a problem.
