I have no problem with Klopp picking up bargains. I bet he was employed partly on the basis of his knack of unearthing the next big thing.
Realistically we cannot compete financially with the Man Utd's, City, Chelsea and even the Arsenal. Nor do we have European football to offer.

You see one club's model doesn't translate so easily.

Leicester is very much a small club where there isn't as much pressure for a signing to perform. We've been burnt with taking big fishes from small ponds before and simply because the player has never had to settle into a that big club environment they've ultimately failed. Same for united, etc.

This is why buying youth players is a flawed strategy IMHO.

We need to buy the best players we can get and it doesn't matter a jot their age or their price. All that matters is their ability and attitude/mentality. Some will have all the ability but will wilt cos they don't have the head for it. You have to have both. Leicesters players didn't wilt under the pressure of a title race so they did very well indeed on attitude/mentality.

He's very young for a keeper and if he's even just a slight improvement on Mignolet then I'm happy with this signing. He's only going to get better and we've not spent significant funds from our transfer budget. It must be difficult to coach errors out of goalkeepers, especially once they've reached a certain age and stage of their career. I'd rather have someone who's decent now and very much on the upward curve.
