i thought that he was brilliant last night. When G-Neville was saying that Lovren was brilliant - our best defender by a mile - i couldn't believe my ears. Don't get me wrong, Lovren played well too - but Klavan made Lukaku non-existent last night.
I think that Klavan has basically made it possible for Klopp to push Matip to get sorted out once and for all. If they were all fit and healthy, I wonder would JK be tempted to play a Matip - Lovren - Klavan trio at the back. Essentially a 3-4-3 might allow us to press even more up the pitch.Comment

Not sure what Sky's obsession was in that first half with trying to make out Klavan was struggling. I don't think people have made enough of this point. Klavan was less than Skrtel, is younger and probably on lower wages. And he is left footed which is offering more squad balance and he generally seems better than Skrtel.Originally posted by frank the tank View Post
