Klopp talked about wanting to sort out the defense. Look at the history of all premier league championship winning teams and they've all had pretty good defenses. For all of the talk about Mahrez and Vardy last season, it was Huth and Morgan protected by Kante and Drinky that meant leicester city won so many games by a single goal and therefore won the league. So for me, we still need a left back to be where we want to be. And not a young guy like Chilwell either. Buy a proper left back. Bite the bullet and give Southampton 20m for Bertrand if that's what it takes.

Klaven should be an able deputy. People will go on about getting the next up and coming player like Tah or whoever but in reality, Lovren and Sakho - and now Matip too - are all young enough players. A 21 year old that isnt going to play will just go stale and then leave eventually having wasted their time. This signing for little money could result in us plugging a gap, enhancing our squad and still allowing us enough cash to make a move for a difference maker.

And you know what, if there wasn't one available this summer then i would prefer we kept our powder dry and waited for the right player. Be that in Jan or next summer. I think the fact that we will play about 45 games next season as opposed to 65 or whatever it was last year, will result in LFC being much more competitive and allowing us to play a high pressing intensive game.
