Great for experience, especially with Kolo leaving. Possibly Klopp's ear in the changing room too?

Makes sense to have an experienced 3rd choice as we can't recall our loaned out keepers

Obviously will be 3rd choice and only get on the bench in emergencies and early cup games but... and I have no real insight into the day to day realities at a top cub but...

When they are in training with various groups working on different stuff, I imagine the 1st choice defence are working together, building up familiarity and understanding etc? If so it would follow that you'll have younger groups of defenders working their drills and exercises and it can't do them any harm at all having an experienced old pro like him in their group barking at them? Like a more extreme Pellegrino purchase? How often have we heard coaches talking about it being difficult to work in training with players away or not having the numbers.

A free transfer and low wages (I'm guessing) makes this a very sensible and practical signing.

Yes, when Karius was injured at the start of the season.
