    [PL] Spurs (A) Build Up

    This Saturday.
Can and Origi most likely won't make it, Sakho leaving for Stoke, Karius, Lucas, Ojo and Gomez still injured. Still no proper LB and the midfield partnership of Hendo - Wijnaldum is looking ****.

On a more positive note, we look ****in deadly against teams that don't defend with 11 men, Mane is back and looks sensational (was wrong about that one), Sturridge and Firmino are finding some goal-scoring form, and Matip has looked good on his debut. They'll be without Lloris, so I think we can take them 3-2 or 4-2 if we play the way we're capable to play.

Tough to predict the starting line-up, I think it might look sth like this:
    -----------Migs-------------
    Clyne-Matip-Lovren-Moreno
    -----Hendo--Wijnaldum----
    Lallana--Coutinho--Firmino
    --------Sturridge---------

Manninger, Klavan, Stewart, Milner, Grujic + Origi and Can if they're ready, otherwise it will be Ings and Markovic.

Mignolet, Lovren on the left and Moreno. Can't wait for that

I hope Matip turns out to be the player he looks like he could be, though admittedly, that promising performance was against Burton.

I know Firmino scored, that Firmino has decent numbers and that Firmino has a top knot, but I'm still not convinced by him or what he's actually supposed to be. I would far rather see a hungry, motivated Sturridge at the tip of the attack than Firmino, who sometimes looks slow and flat footed.

That team looks a bit weak to me.

Am a bit wary of how physically strong Spurs are down their spine, but think that, like against Arsenal, we will get in on target on a regular basis.

Fully expect both teams to score more than one apiece and will be hoping that we get the lion share of a five goal game.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Really dunno how to gauge this game as we had the measure of them under Rodgers & under Klopp, it's like that they can match us blow for blow now so is it fair to say "Call it for a draw"...Matches like these one can go either way for us...cagey affairs or sublime stuff...hell, even both in a single match like against Arsenal but I do know it will be about who will react first to the second balls & little things like that.
Would love us to put another marker down on the away form by coming away with 3 points as taking points off rivals do count in the long run...so our home form will have to be imperious for those points to count when we are dropping them away to lesser teams as recently.
Anyhow, as someone else mentions that we will get the spaces to exploit & capitalise on their weaknesses...We got Mane back & they will be wary of what he can do with the effect he has on our attacking prowess as a team.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

          Really?

You think Klopp will change formation, move Lallana out of his new midfield pressing role, and not pick Mane in either the first 11 or on the bench?

Good game for us to play with Spurs being at home and surely having to attack.#

Want to see Mane and Origi plus Moreno in this game to counter attack them which should suit us

Tottenham Hotspur are without a win in their last seven Premier League meetings with Liverpool, losing five and drawing the last two.

Liverpool have bagged 19 goals in their seven game unbeaten run against Tottenham, an average of 2.7 per game.

Liverpool are unbeaten in three league visits to White Hart Lane (W2 D1), scoring eight goals and conceding none.

This fixture has seen 136 goals scored in Premier League history, only three fixtures have seen more: Newcastle v Tottenham (138), Liverpool v Newcastle (138) and Tottenham v Arsenal (137).

There have been more own goals scored in Premier League matches between Tottenham and Liverpool than any other fixture (9).

Liverpool (31 games) and Spurs (26 games) have gone longer without a 0-0 draw in the Premier League than any other clubs currently in the competition.

Liverpool have scored the most Premier League goals in 2016 so far (45), but they have also conceded 33 (the sixth most).

Harry Kane has never scored a Premier League goal in the month of August, despite playing nine games and 545 minutes on the pitch in this month.

Simon Mignolet has conceded the last five shots that he has faced on target in the Premier League since saving the penalty from Theo Walcott against Arsenal on MD1.

Liverpool are the first team to play their opening three top-flight league games away from home since Chelsea and Bolton Wanderers in 1997-98.

Overall, there have been 12 previous cases of a team playing their first three league games away from home in the top-flight (Accrington & Burnley in 1888-89 had their first four away) and just four of these have been in the post-war era

If we'd have won against Burnley this game wouldn't be THIS important.

If we win I think we'd have all been pleased with 6 points from the first 3 aways, a draw is probably par and if we lose its pretty ****. The international break is a pain in the arse too and kind of serves as a buffer. Its like the first 3 games you build a bit of a platform, iron out a few issues and the season properly starts after the break.

Mane being back is huge. Would have said the same about Can had he not gone down injured.
