I like that, although mignolet is first choice. And I'd be tempted by Lallana next to Coutinho with Sturridge as the one striker. Mane's the only obvious starter from the summer dealings (with Matip signing in Feb)

Reina had never played for us when Rafa picked him as first choice for us. You sign a new keeper its usually cos you intend to replace the one you have already. Then again with klopp you never know, he's a bit mad.

Maybe Im wrong but I don't think Karius has the reputation that Reina did when we bought him. Reina was clearly bought as a first choice but I'm not convinced Karius has been.

You're not alone on that score but I think he was and will be in the team when fit. I think the low price throws people off, if he cost 3 times that amount we'd all be certain he was bought to be first choice.

The problem with these types of selections is that with players like Karius, Matip and Grujic who have hardly played is everyone wants to believe that they will come into the side and improve things immediately, similarly everyone wants to believe that players such as Coutinho, and Firmino will play at the high level that they are capable of consistently rather than an alternative who plays at a more consistent level.

If you could keep all our players fit, I think our key players would be Mane, Sturridge, Coutinho, Can, they would make up the spine of the team in an attacking sense, get other midfield and attacking options to balance that out, and add a defence (I don't think that there is much to choose between our defensive options).

i'm struggling really to pick an XI because i'm not quite sure who fits where/what system we/klopp wants to play and a couple of areas have not been addressed.

if I had to pick something it would be

Mig gets the nod based on i'm not seen/sure where Karius is but I am hoping he can improve on mig instantly.

Sakho is in over Lovren because on form I feel he offers more.

Moreno goes in at left back because he gives us some width down the left, especially with Coutinho/Lallana both prone to come inside

Firmino misses out which is a tough one, but I feel coutinho on form surpasses him and I feel Lallana offers a bit more consistency and fits the 'deeper' midfield role better

Milner in over Hendo because hendo looks all over the place at moment and Milner is prob the best option in the squad

Sturridge, if we get his head sorted and playing regularly will score us goals.

What I have drawn from it though is for me our only defo 'starters' are probably Clyne/Can/Mane - no one else really sticks out and stakes a claim for a guaranteed must start every match which is quite worrying. Everyone else you can pretty much make arguments for or against
