Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been left fuming with Liverpool’s altered fixture list for December and January.
Eight of Liverpool’s Premier League fixtures in December and January have today been rescheduled for television coverage by Sky Sports and BT Sport and the Reds boss has vented his anger.
“I’m not too happy in this moment. We have less than 48hrs between playing Man City & Sunderland. I don’t know if we can do anything,” Klopp said at today’s press conference.
“We have less than 48 hours between games. Then this Dutch guy, the funny athletic coach (Raymond Verheijen) says ‘training is not too good’…How can you prepare teams for this?”
“I would never say Boxing Day is a bad idea—I love it. But I don’t know why we play on Jan 2. Is it a special day?
“Everybody asks why England aren’t too successful in big tournaments. All other countries watch English football at this time,” said Klopp.
Asked about winning Manager of the Month, he added: “Unfortunately a second ago I saw the new fixtures! Of course it’s a nice prize. I didn’t know about these prizes existing until David Wagner got it last month.
“Are you journalists involved? (No) Then no thanks to you.”
Firstly, the trip to Bournemouth has been moved to a 1.30pm kick-off on Sunday December 4, with Sky Sports set to broadcast the game.
The home clash with West Ham United will now take place on Sunday December 11 at 4.30pm, while the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park has been altered to an 8pm kick-off on Monday December 19 with both matches will be shown by Sky.
Stoke’s visit to Anfield, originally scheduled for Boxing Day, has been moved to a 5.15pm start on Tuesday December 27 and BT Sport will show Liverpool’s home date with Man City, which remains on Saturday December 31 but will now kick off at 5.30pm.
The Reds will travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Sunday January 15, with the fixture beginning at 4pm and being broadcast by Sky.
BT will show the Anfield game against Swansea City at 12.30pm on Saturday January 21 and the visit of Chelsea at 8pm on Tuesday January 31.

TBF, we have over a week to rest before Stoke on 27th, then 4 days before City which is plenty and we should be well prepared.Originally posted by Liverpool View Postman city get an extra 29 hours rest before our game in what is hopefully a title match then we have sunderland away less than 48 hours later
literally no prep in between, bit of a recovery session, fly up, matchday
Sunderland game is a nuisance, but City are in the same boat as are quite a few other teams, including Sunderland themselves (well an extra couple of hours), so not as bad as it seems on paper.
Would have been more annoyed had we had the City game after the Sunderland one.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
