Arsenal without Giroud in tomorrow's game
    Was muß, das muß.

A lot of positives from a tough game.

Alex Arnold looks promising, if raw, loads of pace, and what a cross for the first goal.

Woodburn just looks like one of those players doesn't he? He's going to score goals.

The big minus was sadly Kev Stewart, he looks lost, and Grujic must be being given some tough love if he isn't getting a game ahead of him. Can in the 6 with Grujic and Wijnaldum would have made a better 3. I don't think Stewart has what it takes in the PL.

Missed the match but what's this about Origi getting injured? Serious or just a knock?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

He went down injured, but wasn't subbed off, and seemed fine by the end of the game.

Third shut out in a row. Another win ground out with a relatively low energy performance. obviously this could be seen as a bad thing but it's what got Leicester to the title after Christmas last year when they went into 1-0 mode. Hopefully Lallana and at least one of Sturridge/Firmino will be back for the Cherries though and they'll be open for a game of football.

              Header:
Hull City 1 1 Newcastle United
Newcastle United win 1-1 on penalties
              First line:
Newcastle United missed three spot-kicks as Hull City beat the Championship leaders 3-1 on penalties to reach the EFL Cup semi-final.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Do you think you're judging him unfairly? He's been good in the cameos in the PL but he had a stinker today, even the best have those games.

Well Grujic and Stewart are completely different players but yeah surprised he didn't get more time thus far.

Stewart looks in tears when he came off. I wasn't sure if it was an injury or maybe he knew he had an off night and well, that might have been his last chance.

A night of highs for three young'uns though.

Nah, I don't think he's good enough. I may be wrong, but I doubt it

I'd have dropped Can back and played Grujic.

Scrappy game, we made hard work of that. Hardly surprising given the line-up. Some positives and we got through. I hope we avoid Arsenal in the semis.

Thougher than it needed to be, but ultimatly happy with the win and getting a few of the rotation players another chance to shine.

I had a cracking one this morning, fabulous start to the day.

Really happy to see a second string side go through pretty comfortably.
