We always have an amazing season while another team has a stupendous one.

We never capitalise on other teams failures.

So now we have chosen to challange for the title the same season Chelsea have become unstoppable.

    meh

Still time, but I think we need a couple of big reinforcements, especially in defence. You cant argue with our defensive record, and its not like we allow hundreds of chances.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

It was trickier than given credit for. We've closed the gap on Chelsea, can't be displaced from 2nd spot in those round of matches and can expect Matip and Coutinho back for our next game after a well deserved break from league games.

Hoping Spurs get at least a point from their midweek game to keep that gap manageable

We should have won this game and despite not being at our best, we played well enough to do so.
Its not the same for everybody though, is it. Chelsea play 26, 31 December 4 January. We play 27, 31 December 2 January.

We've finished our 3rd game 2 days before Chelsea do having started a day later. Southampton finished their third starting a day later than us.

Chelsea got extra day and we put everything into that City game. Bad timing, Klopp was stressing this months ago.

We should have won, they are ****e but we looked knackered and had a bad day at the office & injuries have really done us in. Ref was poor and we were poor. It happens, it's typical of us to do this though.

Okay maybe if you look at it this way. Playing two games in less than 48 hours is insane.
                Are we winning?

Our results haven't been bad, but Chelsea's form has turned 10 points our of 12 a bad return given we could be 8 points behind them if they win tomorrow.

Our performance wasn't great but I don't think the players were too tired it was individual mistakes that cost us. The first penalty was very naive defending, it was clear what the Sunderland player was looking for and we gifted it to him. The second penalty WTF was Mane thinking? Take out those either of those mistakes and we win the game. These are exactly the type of mistakes we make far too many of and they cost us points, 2 points dropped today were huge as they give Chelsea the opportunity to open up a massive lead and drag us back into the Arsenal, Man City and Spurs battle. We need to take a break for a few days maybe give most of the first team players the weekend off for the FA Cup tie. Mane is gone now for the Africa Cup of Nations, hopefully Sturridge only picked up a knock and won't be out long and Coutinho can be back soon, otherwise we could have selection problems.

Although we can't complain about either of the penalty decisions I thought that the referee was abysmal and looking to give them everything, the freekick that lead to their second penalty was not a freekick and he gave them many others that were very soft, while giving us nothing.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                      Found it

Its worse if you consider most boxing days games were 3pm and anything tomorrow or Wednesday is night kick off.

Southampton have been totally screwed with a night kick off on 28th and playing a 3rd game at 3pm today 105 hours less rest than Chelsea

With the 2nd game a long distance away game.

43hrs and a bit between final whistle the day before yesterday and today's KO. That's really insane

I suppose you could say it's typical Liverpool.
                            The squad is thin

A few injuries and the bench is full of kids

I know Klopp keeps saying they only want to buy top quality players who will contribute long term but I would also like to see a few bodies brought in during January

None of which is evidence to how great United are playing. They've won 6 league games since they last lot in the league to Chelsea in October. 4 of them are against the current bottom 5. Lets not **** our pants yet.
