The only ****ing positive is karius. It's the most assured that he's looked since he arrived. Not just the saves, it's his body language.

First team when all fully fit and available are quality, fast paced and tough to stop. Injuries, no Mane and the depth of the squad and pace of play goes down several gears... hence we run out of ideas despite possession

So true. I'd back us against anyone with a first team all fit. But we don't have great depth in the squad, throughout.

We seem to be half the team we were before Christmas.

A midfield of Can and Lucas would struggle against most teams as they are Far too slow

Wijnaldum is the same and he's been as innefective as them two in and out of possession

As a side we do occasionally lapse back into the Brendan Formula of playing slow possession game in front of teams and we have done this today

Biggest thing for me is again you can sit deep against us and knock it long and pick up 2nd balls because we don't win anywhere near enough of them as a general rule
