i love how this thread started as a 'where can i go for some decent food and a few pints in Liverpool' type of thread and its just morphed into the match build up thread
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

For food in the afternoon / evening, to be honest, most of the best gastropubs in Liverpool will be outside the city centre...

My advice? Get back into town after the game and go for a Paddy 7 course meal - 6 pints of Guinness and a potato!! If you want a home from home, then there is a pub on Tithebarn Street called Shenanigans that is good.

If you would like a bit of a pub-crawl, then start at the Ship and Mitre on Dale Street for a real ale. Across the road there is a place called the Dead Crafty Beer Company that is good. You could either continue up Dale Street and hit Lady of Mann but my advice would be to take a detour to Tithebarn street and hit Shenanigans for the Man City v Spurs game at half 5.

For food, then Fazenda is great rodizio for steak. Good stuff and would be nearby. Would strongly advise to book it in advance though. If that doesn't suit, then CAU is a good Argentinian restaurant on Castle Street is great steak as well.

Back to your hotel then for a treble-S before heading back out. I would then suggest that you get to Hope Street / the top of Hardman Street and work your way down from there (it's all downhill!). Fredericks is a good spot and the Philharmonic Dining Rooms is worth a pint in if you haven't been before. Then work your way down Hardman St. The Old Blind School is okay - there might be some visuals there. Across the road Fly in the Loaf is good.

By then you are likely to be full of booze but still want to stay out and enjoy a drink with your brother. Get to the bottom of Hardman Street and go to Berry & Rye. This is just a black door on Berry Street but is a good speakeasy style place that do great whiskey cocktails. And it stays open late.

If you were mad for road then get to Seel Street - which is off Berry Street - and just follow the smell of clunge..... ha ha

For hangover cure the next day, then a burger in Almost Famous wont let you down!!
That is a great write up. Since I had my kids I haven't done a "regular" Saturday night like that in years. Just out of interest what would you spend on that in 2017.

Yeah, I think we had about 200 people over, but I do think most of them are Liverpool supporters, you just got unlucky and met the few Swansea ones.
            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Only 3 hours till KO. Good social time for us over here.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Thought Sturridge and Origi were very poor in midweek and Firmino has been quite poor over the last couple of months. We really need these guys to pick their game up.

Hope Coutinho will start - great to have him back.
                  Another MASSIVE game

Didn't Cout play 65 on Wednesday though? If so he'll be on the bench imo.

What time is the game on over in Oz mate?
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Clyne back, Matip makes the bench and annoyingly Lallana not in midfield. But strong line up.

Annoyingly Swansea have been fodder for ages but have got a decent manager in and a few new players. I'll just be happy with 3pts today after oureading form this past month.

                                From where?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet
