    Is Van Dyck out then?

He's dominated us the other times we've played them if he is out it will give whoever plays Number 9 some room to breathe.

Maybe they've got Tomas Kalas lying around somewhere...

Yeah, I wouldn't play Studge anywhere other than front and central. Let the others fit around him. Bobby F can do a fine job as one of the wider men and Coutinho can drop back sometimes too, especially against the weaker teams. The same players can't play every game and I'm sure given the right environment and coaching Studge can do a fine job of pulling defenders about

That keeps both Firmino and Lallana in their best positions, and I think we win more games that way.

I want a footballer, not a sprinter. Studge will beat more men and get more shots on target and in the goal playing CF than anyone else in our squad.

Unfortunately this version of Sturridge isn't the same as say 2014. He started and played centrally v Burnley, United at home, Plymouth at home and we were toothless, firing blanks.

I've been a big fan of his purely based on his skill, flamboyance and sheer quality but it's very rarely seen anymore even against poor opposition playing in his best position. He just doesn't seem to fit anymore and doesn't seem to want to knuckle down and adapt like Lallana for example.

He'll probably end up at West Ham or Palace and wind down his career with a whimper which is a massive shame given his obvious natural talent.

No, because he's not match fit, hasn't had a run of full games or been played up front.

Players don't just become **** overnight at his age. Interesting comparison with Lallana who also looked like he might 'end up at west ham' when placed in a dysfunctional team and asked to do a role that he wasn't familiar with.

I think the character assassination seems to have worked. Is there any evidence that he "doesn't seem to want to knuckle down and adapt "?

I think Origi's confidence is shot and he needs a couple of weeks off. I also think Sturridge (through no fault of his own) ****s up our preferred style of play. So mad as it sounds I like the idea of experimenting with Moreno as a wide attacker, or giving Ojo a go as a poor-man's-Mane.

                    That's a strong looking team.

after all the press talking about 1 hour video meetings and getting to Anfield 8 hours before KO I'm thinking he wants a major reaction espesh with that strong team...here's hoping

Good to see Lallana is back in midfield for us, I'd swap Can for Wijnaldum personally but apart from that pretty happy with the starting XI

That was the best Sturridge played for us in a long time. Yet it isn't good enough for us at our speed of movement. He was picked because he could finish better than Origi, ultimately it was his finishing that cost us. Irony?

This is not an isolated case. Origi makes us play better end of.

I think Sturridge needs games in the team to bed in properly. He hasn't had much rhythm and that's probably down to him (injuries) and us (not choosing him). Origi makes more runs in behind and brings us that cutting edge.
                                Are we winning?
